I thought it was rather strange they announced this right after showing FF 13 and saying coming out same year, but it is an MMO so its all cool.

Rolled into what?
Anyways, game looks cool.
I'd be willing to try out the online thing to see if they did it any better this time.

I mean the talking rolled into a big revelation. Like:
Blablabla new games for the PS3, blablabla. Our developers love the PS3 blabla. Oh by the way, you're now looking at Final Fantasy 14. Oh and yeah it's online blabla.
Instead of:
Today we have another big announcement. Square Enix keeps showing it's love for the PS3, as you will see in the trailer of this new game. ...
*Crowd goes crazy when they see FFXIV*
Of course I'm exaggerating. But it wasn't just presented that well. Same with the motion control thing.

Did their presentation lack the Nintendo emblem too much for you?
Who the hell cares how it was presented.
"Oh man, I'm not buying this game, last year at E3 09, they totally fucked the dog on stage. I don't care how the game looks or what it's like, but the way they announced it made me not want to play it."
Clearly, I am exaggerating.

Well, at MS's show, I got goosebumps a few times, just because of the cool way they introduced their games. It showed them they took it serious.
Sony had great stuff, but they didn't know how to bring it. Almost as if they didn't really care.
And of course it doesn't not affect which game I will or will not get. But it surely influences how I look back at the Eł press conferences.
Also, Nintendo was probably in between Sony and Microsoft. Some good stuff, some stupid stuff.

You heard it here folks, Sony doesn't care about making money or their company.
I think the entire E3 show is a bunch of BS, and it's the big showy-grandiose sets, stages, and announcements that make it totally weak. I don't care how long it takes, or how you introduce a game, just make a good goddamn game, and do it well. It's just a cock waving competition between the three main companies, which gives fanboys fuel for the "ZOMG I CANT WAIT FOR NEW MARIO/ZELDA GAMES".
What happened to just not hyping things up to the point of a Jonas Brothers concert in a Catholic Girls' school. Tell us about it 4 months from release at most. Anything more than that is pointless.

I think its actually kind of funny the way e3 has become, as MS went pretty hush for the better part of 10 months so that they could have surprises at e3.
My thing is, a good game is a good game no matter when you show it. I was listening to a podcast last night, and they made a point that the entire thing with Punchout Wii and to a lesser extent Excitebots took place in between last year and this year's e3.
We got the annoucement, a few trailers and went a few months (less than 2 for Excitebots) we got the game.
That said, FF 14 was nothing more than dick waving for Sony at its best, I think it looks interesting, but really after today's Q n A, it doesn't even look like Square-Enix is 100% sure on the game (it may not be exclusive, they couldn't answer pricing or beta, or show anything more of the game)

"MY GINIE IS TINGLING!"
Seriously though I agree. I think perhaps that's one of the reasons I started not liking games as much as before.
I find myself liking games these days that I barely hear anything about and then just play and I'm like "Shit... This is a good game"
Example: I didn't hear a damn thing about Professor Layton and one day I saw it and was like "Lol, I'm bored, I could try a puzzle game." Turns out it was one of the best puzzle games ever. Same thing with Puzzle quest. Megaman 9 was announced at e3 last year and was out by like november or something. I mean really folks. I haaaaaaaaaaaate waiting 4 years for a game to come out and still suck balls. It's like "Why did you even try? 4 years for this?" Sometimes that is.
Alan wake... WTFUX.
