1v100 beta starts tonight on live at 9:30 ct / 10:30 et.

You can set a reminder from the dashboard when the show starts, which triggers a download of the game software.

I might play tonight, anyone else going to?

If I had a 360 I would be down.
However, I'll probably just watch my friend play it at his place.

Do you know if it's open to both America and Canada?

I know the first few were only open to Canada, so I wonder if these are only open to America.

Regardless, we should get a party together to play.

I'm pretty sure it's US and Canada.

To those who have played (Canadians): How early before the game do you have to sign in to play?

I shall have to join and see how badly I fail.

So did anyone make it into the mob?

Dylflon

I mowed the lawn instead of playing.

Getting in the mob is so hard.

Swan did it once during the Beta and then got the second question wrong. In his defense, it was an impossibly hard question if you don't know much about the personal lives of the actors from the Harry Potter movies.

'Mowed the lawn' or mowed the lawn?

If you're referring to trimming my pubes, no.

I did that a few days ago.

I thought this was fun last night... some of the questions were bizarre... and the host occasionally not talking was odd. Other than that, good show, but I think two hours is a little long.

It is scary what people do and do not know.

There were 9 people in the mob who didn't know that Princess Toadstool was Princess Peach, but only one of them who didn't know that some former Idol winner said I guess someone else on Idol makes his ear bleed. I am being vague because I don't remember names.

I think everyone was "in the mob" unless I'm wrong? I was answering questions and got a handful wrong but I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't fail miserably.

One of the funnier moments of the night was the "What temp does water freeze?" I stupidly was one that choose 32c and not 32f because 32c came up first and I saw a huge wave of people get knocked out at once :lolz: so I didn't feel as bad for messing it up too.

No there is the One
The Mob
And the Crowd

The One is obviously the person on the stands.
The Mob is the initial 100 in which the One is playing against.
And the Crowd just watches for the most part.

The crowd can answer questions and earn points toward a score (mine being the high score when I left, BTW :D), but they aren't involved in the game itself, and how credits are earned by The One and The Mob.

I love playing this game! Really easy to get hooked on and lots of fun with friends. Also interesting to see what kinds of crazy stuff you know. Word on the street though is that this beta will be free but the actual game may require the purchase of a 'season pass'...?

NOOO!!!

Don't do it!!! (http://kotaku.com/5292780/microsoft-1-vs-100-live-season-pass-simply-a-test)

I could see why they would want to do it since it got so many people, but once you have to pay for it... and get no guarantee you would be a part of the mob or ever the one... it kind of defeats the purpose.

Finally made it into the mob, we were down to The 1 vs 30 and the bum took the cash and ran.

So close!

Is it not normal to make it into the mob?
Me and my friend played 1v100 for the first time a few weeks ago (only on one profile) and we were in the mob right away, for the entire thing.

I' pretty bummed I missed the Penny Arcade 1 vs. 100. :(

Thats was one of those speed rounds though probably or something, not the live ones.

Nope. It was live.

Clearly by the reaction of utter disbelief, I take it that it's highly unlikely to get into the mob. Which is all I wanted to know.
