View Full Version : Baby Names.
So if you happened to have a child, do you have any names in mind? If so, reason why?
For a girl I like the name Kahlee. It was a character in the Mass Effect books and the name just really stuck with me.
As for a boy, probably something after someone in my family

I'd name my child Earlie, regardless of sex.

First I'll think about getting a wife. Then about getting children. Then about whether to give them names or not.
My parents already had a name ready for if I had been a girl. It's Carolien. I might use that... although it could be awkward, because I've been very in love with a girl with the same name.
Strangely enough my parents did not use that name for my younger sisters when they were born.

I always liked Nemo. But would want to put more thought into the name like when and where and what time the child is born and somehow incorporate that. Give it that name for a reason.

I've been partial to Auric.
Think it kind of works with my last name.
And can say the kid is pure gold.

I've been thinking more about dog names than baby names recently, just because owning a dog seems more imminent than having a child. That said, something unique-ish would be cool without being too weird or troubling for the kid, but I haven't thought of anything specific.
DiffLon
I am with Germanator on this one. I have a few names I think would be good for a dog. I was thinking Kenji if it was a dog or Enjiki if it was a bitch.

What I want to know is why certain people with certain names always turn out a certain way. Like why are all girls named Bertha fat. Or why are all guys named Richard assholes. Why does every girl named Candy become a stripper? Why does every girl named Amber or Tiffany become a porn star? Is it some complicated self-fulfilling prophecy?
I'm gonna go with the Ebonics approach and name my kid after a car or something. If I have a girl I'm gonna call her Chrysler or Mercedes or maybe Paprika.

I knew a guy named Richard who was not an asshole.
He was English, not American

All the a-hole guys named "Richard" that I know are American. Ric, you're not an asshole....so you support Swan's theory that names are region based. :p
I've noticed that European people are just nicer in general. I love my European friends. I think it's the fact that you guys all started drinking when you were like 16 or younger....:lolz:
It also seems European women are much more open/promiscuous with their sexuality. Here in the States only the girls named Candy, Tiffany and Amber are hoes.
I was only fooling about. But I appreciate your comments KG ;)
I will say though 'where did that come from?' to Angrist. Ok I am a man, I will admit sometimes I can be a dick, so can everyone. I know we disagree on some points sometimes but we agree on others and dispite those past disagreements I have had with you I would not call you a dick. So I dont know how better to put the way I interpret what you said than using smileys - but :wtf:

Here's where it came from: Richard is often abbreviated to Dick, right? Like in Band of Brothers, the main character was Dick Winters, Richard Winters for full.
Hence the Dick with a capital D...

I'd name my kid Branko Danger. Danger will be his middle name.
Um, I haven't really thought about it too much, names for girls would be Laura/Lauren or Kaitlyn.
I don't know what I'd name a boy. His middle name would undoubtedly be Joseph though.
