Oddly enough, Germy has never seen the movies in which he is named after (he will make up some lame excuse as to his name being related to something else, but we all know what it really comes from)
Anyhow, he will finally watch the movies this week, and this is the thread will he will post impressions and thoughts.
This can also serve as a thread for people who have missed out on movies, and finally get around to watching them.
When you say missed out on movies....you mean missed out on Terminator movies?

Well, since this thread has my name in it, I guess I should post.
I just watched the first Terminator and it was pretty good! It's crazy that it's 25 years old already, and some of the visual effects show that age, but it's still good. There was more male ass in the first 4 minutes than I was expected, but the breasts later on made up for that. Anyway, I guess I know what I've been missing and Terminator 2 is up next!

About damn time.
And after Terminator 2... comes Terminator..... Salvation hopefully.
Yeah the trilogy shall be complete.

Let's see...never saw any Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Speed, Top Gun...well a lot of classic action movies.
Only saw part of Alien. The only full Alien movie I saw was Alien vs. Predator, which is weird considering how much I like Xenomorphs. Saw both Predators though.
No Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elmstreet movies. As a kid the only horror series I really liked was Critters...don't even think I saw the first one either.
No Goonies or the first Gremlins in its entirety.
Only the first Evil Dead movie.
I guess if any of those make it onto Netflix's watch instantly list I'll see them...damn, Die Hard is on there...looks like I have no excuse now.

For anyone wondering about Pen's cryptic message, I agreed to watch a movie of his choosing for every issue of NextWave he reads.
Just saw Die Hard. Quite enjoyed. Although what was Carl Winslow doing in LA?
I recently realised that I had never watched all the Star Trek movies. I acuired copies of them and have started watching them. I have just finished watching the fifth film, The Final Frontier. Of these first five I think I had only seen 'The Search For Spock' at some distant point in the past.
I saw First Contact at the cinema years ago... 12 years ago in fact. I liked that so I'll watch through it again but next up is film 6, The Undiscovered Country.
I am gonna watch it now in fact. Film night ;) I'll comment more and also on other points later on or tomorrow ;)

I downloaded all the Star Wars movies in HD. Totally sweet quality. Of course I've seen them multiple times.
Although not for the last 4 years. Ep. III was the last one, saw it twice in cinema. I liked it though.
I want to do a SW marathon with some friends.

Well, I watched Terminator 2 a few days ago and I'm not sure how to feel. I think whatever version I downloaded, I mean rented, was the director's cut, so it was a bit longer than the regular version. I'm not sure what it is with director's cuts, but they always seem a bit long to me, and that the original cut was probably that way for a reason.
That said, watching these two flicks for the first time so close to each other, I can't help but feel that the original Terminator is the superior film. It's just so nice and concise. Terminator 2 is just more or less the same flick with some added elements to try to make it better, but for me it didn't really do it. I sympathize far more with the Sara Connor in the original flick, just a simple waitress who doesn't know what's going on compared to the Sara Connor in T2. I understand that the story has to evolve that way, but I don't know. T2 was still pretty good and a lot of fun, but T1 just felt really special.

So are you planning on T3? I don't like it, it goes even further into the direction that you didn't really like.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles on the other hand seem to take it back to basics. Interesting theories on how Terminators are trying to speed up Judgement Day in the present time.
