View Full Version : How is GT Doing?
Is GT still a fun forum to frequent?
Do we have an adequate amount of new threads?
Are there any improvements that you would like to see?

Is this an Earl inspired thread? Funny you should ask though, because I was just suggesting to BaB that he should tell you to send one of those mass mails (and I know you can do it) to every registered user. You know, a friendly, "hey, person who used to go to GT but doesn't anymore, you should come back because we have a Pokemon tournament and thread about if your penis has a sweater or not."
Anyway I think GT is a little slow, but it's understandable with finals and all. It's the con to a small, nice community. The pros are many though like more personal threads and better discussion.
I like how GT has opened up the discussion though and laid of some of the censorship. Back in the day this place was kinda anal (like when it first opened).
I think we need a Facebook-esque "what are you doing right now, and while you're at it, post a few hundred pictures of yourself drunk, and making some pseudo-awesome faces" thing. And a friends list so we can see how many female friends we have to show off to each other.
Whew, glad I got that off my chest. And yes, I do use Facebook, for those wondering..

I probably spend half an hour (while multitasking) on GT every day. Yesterday I told a guy this was the only forum I visit because of the people/past/etc. I don't really have anything important to discuss.

I'll send out one of those mass emails after finals.
Going to look into bringing back the Shoutbox then as well.

For once, I am completely innocent in the whole affair.
I was actually shocked we had one of these threads since I swore we did one of these near the end of last year.
Anyhow, I still come here and do what I do so no complaints... other than a certain Mr. Molecule. :(

I have a newer job where I have more free time to come here. Though I just lurk and never really reply to anything these days. lol
I can't really speak for how fast the forum is moving, but I'd assume kind of slowish.

I sort of wish we had a front page for editorials and some news, but that will probably never happen. :\

Yeah, I recall. News would probably be pointless since it's already readily available so many other places.
I also want that lame DDR-ish game back in the arcade...it was the only one I was really good at.

MORE GAMES!!!
Neo says there's no pinball games everywhere. Can somebody make one so we can have it in the arcade?

My favorite thing is when someone makes a welcome back thread and then they disappear for another 3 years.

Yeah. I have done that before. It was more about circumstance though rather than not wanting to post. It was more that I could not.
I think GT is great. More users would be fantastic but quality ones. Not the ones who go through 20 topics and say one word or put a smiley.
We need more females too, where are they all. Get on that e-mail thing and find out where Marionette went.
I am quite sure that a lot of old users frequent this site and just read as I have in the past, without logging in. So we may not be as slow as some may think. There are more people about than you may think.
Hey mabey if we drop peoples names they might read it and make a post. We just gotta encourage them. Who can you remember?

I feel like GT is doing alright. It's never been the most active forum, but I actually think the last 6 months have been way better than some other stretches that I can remember. I dunno, everyone gets along for the most part here and I've been here long enough that it's comforting.
It will be interesting to see if we're all still here in our 40's. Besides Professor of course, he's almost there already. ;)

Lol, I wouldn't be shocked if people are here into their 40's. Man its 2009, that's 8 years of me being here.. sorta! I don't think its something one just grows out of completly, things in life change. Long as I have a computer I'll still lurk around.
