View Full Version : New Fallout Announced
From Kotaku:
Fallout New Vegas was announced moments ago during a Bethesda press conference in London.
The new game was revealed by Bethesda's Pete Hines who said that the publisher is working with Obsidian Entertainment on the title.
It will be coming out next year for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
"It is not a sequel to Fallout 3," Hines said. "It's simply another Fallout game in that universe."
It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3, he said. The game's official reveal, with more details and a look at the game down the line.
Hines added that this title will have no impact on what Todd Howard and his team are working on.
Obsidian Entertainment is the development studio that rose from the ashes of Black Isle Studios, responsible for developing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights, Alpha Protocol, and Sega's Aliens: Crucible RPG, which is currently on indefinite hold.

Fallout 3 looks like one of the best games I could ever play. Environment is absolutely enthralling, the creatures are fantastic and horrific, and the amount of detail put into the weapons as well as the majesty of the broken world you have to play in are amazing.
Too bad the game freaks me out too much to play it for any extended period of time. :(
My usual method of playing Fallout 3: "Huh, there's a cool looking creepy building over there, shrouded in shadows. I bet it would be cool to explore it...or I could make a wide circle around it."

Stuff used to scare me in that game. My dude is way to badass to give a fuck now though.
The first time going through the subway tunnels is pretty nerve wracking. Ghooooouuuuls. Now I have a badass ghoul team mate who walks around in power armor.

I hated the city that was rampant with deathclaws.
I'd take Yao Guai caves any day.
Awesome, I just beat this yesterday!
I'm worried any sequel won't be able to even touch the glory that is Fallout 3. :(

Really!? I felt that way a couple of times, but generally as long as you've got Three Dog blaring it's pretty hard to get scared.

For me the interesting info was that there was an Aliens RPG in the making. That sounds like a terrible idea.
I googled it and then discovered that Rebellion is making another Aliens vs. Predator game (to be published by SEGA). That's very good news, they made the original AvP fps.
And here's hoping they bring it to Wii (with SEGA publishing some serious games on Wii lately).

Yeah mate you know it. By the time you level up and can punch a Deathclaws face in your sorted. Find yourself charging in there head on trying to take on everyting at once.
This game did not scare me though. Fallout and Fallout 2 prepared me for that. I cant believe there was not a master in the game, as in the cathedral in Fallout. That would have scared the shit out of you. I would have taken the Mental Block perk.
By doing some messing about on this game I ended up completing it with 4 followers. Yes I said 4. Namely Dogmeat, RL-3, Fawkes and Star Paladin Cross.
Looking forward to the idea of a new fallout. I kinda wish they would remake the first one, add vats and put it all in 3d but change nothing else. Oh and none of that downloadable content and extra missions crap. I am not a fan of that. I hate getting games only to find that some git at the computer game company decided to cut a bit out and sell it seperatly.
