This is just like the VS series elsewhere on the boards, but here we have 4 movies in the series.

One of the worst named sequels ever.

4 movies.. 3 very different styles.
Which is the best?
Which is the worst?
And do you know that Acebot has only seen the last one?

I can pick a definite favorite with Die Hard, I dont think I can pick a least favorite, specially since its been a while since i saw either with a vengeance or die harder (10+ years).

Easily the first one is best.

Obviously the first is the best. The rest are all mediocre in their own ways, but the latest one was definitely the most mediocre....
...PG-13 rating, no "Yippy kay yay mother fucker!," no gratuitous violence....

Die Hard is the best....2 and 3 are probably a toss-up. Depends on the day.

Hahaha I've seen the last TWO of which I liked Vengeance more. Both very enjoyable films though.

Don't lie to the folks!

Anyhow,

Die Hard is of course the best in the series, doubt anyone would debate that.
In my opinion, it is followed by With a Vengeance which has Samuel in it.
Then Live Free or Die Hard though as Michael Scott pointed out, they do make him a little superhuman in it.
And finally Die Hard: Die Harder, which I have softened up on over the years, but its really Die Hard in an airport.

No I kidnapped Mr. Snuffles. Muh huh huh huh huuuuuuuuuu.

My personal favourite. Die Hard With A Vengeance.

For one scene, and one of the most memorable scenes in any film ever for me.
The bit where they raid fort knox with the big trucks an nick all the gold. All the while the Noah's Ark theme is playing in the background. A fantactic piece of cinematography IMHO. It's stuck with me through the years.

Live Free or die Hard was an awful movie. Awful. not entertaining in the least. A low mark for Bruce Willis, and that's saying something.

now, I haven't seen the original die hard but I've seen the rest. Saving the best for last :)

I never get when people do this
To be perfectly honest, I only saw the original 3 because Live Free or Die Hard was coming out.
Same with Indiana Jones, I find it hard to jump on a sequel or 4th movie or whatever without seeing what came before it.

Granted, Live Free really doesn't maintain many elements from the first 3, other than John McClane and his daughter, and I guess the whole name thing that his ex-wife did in the first movie.
