Haters!

I will admit the song and the guy/girl singing it is horrible, but the beat is so addictive.

I really don't know why that is. YouTube is actually banned completely, but when you bypass the ban, you sometimes run into "this video is not available in your country". I think it's got something to do with YouTube themselves.

It's a licensing thing.
Some videos on Youtube even I can't get because they're not available.

There's nothing wrong with liking Lady Gaga. I'm always really surprised at people who completely block off a certain genre just because they think they don't like it. What happened to a little open-mindedness?

I downloaded the Lady Gaga album, but Just Dance and Poker Face were the only good songs. She's gone to school for this sort of thing in New York, and it shows. Structurally, both the songs are insanely catchy, especially the BOM BOM BOM CHA rhythm used in belly dances and sometimes even marching band arrangements. It's something you don't hear in pop that often.

Gaga2

Wow, she's pretty talented. I never saw how she was influenced by Elton John (as she so admits to on both Wikipedia and Myspace) but I totally see it now.

She's actually super talented. When she was 17 or something she was writing songs for record labels so they could use them with other bands.

But after seeing that acoustic piano rendition, I actually really like her a lot. She should stick to that, over that whole "getting famous" thing.

The acoustic version is very Broadway, which, of course, doesn't sell cds.

That's funny, I had the same reaction as you guys after seeing her do the acoustic version on SNL a few weeks ago. I was surprised by her talent as well!

See starting at about 1:40

It kinda reminds me of what people say about Prince. Apparently, despite everyone knowing him for his pop credentials, he's also an excellent guitarist.
