I know not everyone is a huge fan of re-releases or ports, I am looking forward to some of these.

The first two were released today with NPC Pikmin and Mario Tennis. I think Pikmin suits it well as, the pointer would make the navigation easier and gives us an idea of how Pikmin 3 will work.

Mario Tennis, I'm a bit disappointed in as I expected it to feature some type of improvements like online or more characters, but alas.

Also included further down the pipe is Prime 1 and 2, which I am debating as I felt Corruption is the best game in the series due to the controls, but most people would point their finger at the original Prime.

And then there is Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat, which is a game I loved on the Cube, and it seems like the Wii-release changes enough to warrant a look.

Here is a walkthrough but the gist of it is you now move about with the analog stick, jump with normal buttons and there is minimal waggle. There are also some new enemies, obstacles and an additional boss gauntlet and remake of a stage so it does have some added content. Along with a life/health system.

New controls simply aren't enough to warrant a rerelease, IMO.

The graphics would have to be completely rebuilt from the ground up taking advantage of and pushing new hardware to the max.

Completely re-orchestrated music and sound effects.

A rerelease would also require leaderboards and some form of online multiplayer integrated into the original game.

New levels and content.

But if a game is just being given new controls and nothing else, the price should be 95% off the original sticker price.

I'm kind of excited actually for the Prime remakes, and also the possible remake of RE2 that has a rumor floating around. The Prime remakes will definitely make good use of the controls from the two Gamecube releases, but yes, sadly some online features would definitely be needed. Especially for Mario Tennis, although that game is just outright fun, and no one should contest that with me.

I wonder why Mario Golf was thrown out of the loop too?

:( Probably because it requires motionplus. We Love Golf got pretty boring without it, I have to admit.

I didn't expect these games to be cheap, but they're just €30 here in Holland. I'd say that's a pretty good deal! Fortunately I already have most games on the Cube.

The only game I'll probably get is Pikmin 2. :)

I loved pikmin. Never got to finish as it was stolen with my GC a while back. I replaced the GC but never did get another copy of pikmin.
