View Full Version : I'm tired of winter

It's snowing a lot outside. These last two weeks, we've had pleasant weather with temperatures at the 40s-50s. Then I wake up today and it's snowing like crazy.

I love snow but we've had so much this winter.

Anybody else feeling the same way?

I'm touched, but I don't have my 360 in Boston.

I am, however, having it shipped up here for Resident Evil 5 :D

I am very tired of winter. We also keep on getting the mid 30s-40s weather for a while, but then it turns back to the teens and snow. I hope we finally break out of the cycle to warm weather this week.

Cold + Snow + Wind + Iced Sidewalks + Walking to Class = No Fun.

I also wish that winter was over. I have to train for cycling, and I have my first race of the season on Saturday March 7th, so it'll probably be cold and miserable. I'm just hoping for 40s. It's at Rutgers, in New Jersey, so hopefully it'll be warmer than Pittsburgh.

Right now it's raining here... it's nice to listen to but I would prefer sunshine on the weekend.

I got a nice break from winter blues for a month when I was on St. Thomas.

Wish I was there now.

That used to be my life in Miami.

Out of curiosity, where do you live?

So, I stayed up all night studying for a midterm, and in an ironic twist (after making this thread yesterday), I'm able to enjoy my first snow day. Apparently the storm got bad enough for BU to close.

Now I can sleep.. heh

We got some nice snow and ice (skating!) a few months ago. Now I think it's finally becoming spring. I think I wouldn't mind some more snow though. I just wouldn't get as excited as last times.

Crazy scandinavian.

I get a e-mail blog/promo thing from this cd dealer who lives up in the scandinavian netherlands are and he's always happy about the snow. It irrationally irritates me.

Scandinavian Netherlands, now that's something I'd like to see before I die.

Speaking of Netherlands, I'm there right now! Rotterdam is interesting...We actually have a day off so I walked around for a few hours and saw some different neighborhoods. Anyway, yeah, it's nice, but off to Germany at 3 or 4 AM

Wow, Chicago has seen weather above 30 maybe for a total of a week this winter. We've had lots of 20s, teens, and a few single digit weeks. We also had that one week where it was like -45 degrees with the windchill.

The only people who have it worse than the midwest are Canada and maybe New York.

But seriously, bring on the global warming. It's 19 degrees and we have had lake effect snow for the past 36 hours. I'm ready for some 60s.

Normally I would be tired of winter, BUT, im going skiing in Colorado over my spring break (I'll be in Colorado march 7-12 to be exact), so I hoping for one more blast of winter in Steamboat. It was 50 there today which has me worried, but the temps are suppoused to drop. Looking forward to it.

Actually The Netherlands and Scandinavia are quite different. I guess Danmark is the link between them (Scandinavian country with a climate comparable to ours).

In Holland we rarely have snow/ice. Just enough for everybody to keep ice skates. We go totally crazy when the ice is thick enough to skate on. In the last centuries we've had colder winters and it always provided nice entertainment. I guess that partly explains our love for winter.

WOW! It was gorgeous out today!

And it's 4:40am...I just finished writing a 9-page paper for my Psychology class, and I have the windows all cracked and my fan blowing, and there is fresh air outside and it smells like spring!

It is a slice of heaven compared to what we have been having. Right now it is in the mid-50s. I guess tonight we are supposed to get thunderstorms and drop back into the 30s. =/

But it looks like it is supposed to warm up again, and more thunderstorms!

I LOVEEEEEEEEE THUNDERSTORMS.

I also love jogging in the city. I jog through downtown Chicago a lot, and I have the whole Chicago lakefront at my disposal...I'm about a mile (at most) from the lake, so I can jog down to the lakefront and run it.

I can only run outside in warm weather though because of my breathing. I'm psyched for warm weather.

Anyway.......

Freshman year I jogged through downtown Chicago during a huge lightning/thunder storm, and hearing the thunder echo through the city was crazy awesome. I'm on the south west corner of Chicago looking towards the city, so I have a pretty nice view of the city (and if I get about 10 stories up a view of the south lake front).

The thunder in the city does sound cool. I should try that sometime.

I'm so glad it finally got warm these last two days. It seems like we've been stuck below freezing for months.
