I'll be presenting the benefits on vBulletin to my company soon as a way to mediate the social and communciation risks of moving to a work from home environment. I'd like to use you all as a resource, if I could.

First question: How do I enable the embed feature to allow people insert YouTube videos directly into the threads?

Thanks in advance.

You have to enable HTML, which requires a lot of trust of the members.

I did, and it still didn't work. Can you specifiy the exact area I need to go to enable it? Maybe I'm in the wrong admin panel...

Oh, sorry, didn't understand what you meant.

Try this: Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum (Go) -> Enable/Disable Features -> Yes to Allow HTML -> Save.

Still doesn't work. Its just shows the code as this:

http://www.youtube.com/v/oHg5SJYRHA0...</param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true">http://www.youtube.com/v/oHg5SJYRHA0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

You need to enable it per subform, like Bond is saying. I think you can turn it on forum-wide in the general options, but any subforum that is set to "HTML off" specifically will bypass that.

Did it in the subforum's first. I am so confused...

I'm using the trial version. Do you think that's the problem?

There must be some kind of universal setting like Dyne was talking about. I can't find it right now for some reason. I'll have another look over the weekend.

Professor, I looked around the vB control panel some more today, and I just can't find any other options to turn HTML on. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

If you have any other questions just let me know.

If you don't want to enable HTML, you can create custom vB tags which are then parsed. So you should be able to do link or something similar.
