I'm a guitar autodidact. Been playing for 3.5 years now.

Last weekend I made music with some friends, that was fun. Problem was that there were 3 guitar players and 1 drummer, who liked the guitar more than his drums. :D
People have recently been telling me that I'm a decent singer, so I'm practising that too. I sang Richard Marx' Right Here Waiting with a 25 year old girl, that was pretty cool.

I also own a chromatic harmonica, but I can't really do much with it.

I play acoustic guitar very shit-tastically, I play my vocal chords, and I from time to time I dabble in electronica - which I guess isn't technically an instrument.

I've got a handle on most woodwind and brass instruments. I got an award for it in high school. I still play Tuba and Alto Sax around town for shits and giggles. 2 years ago, I picked up a J-Bass and learned myself some Funk Bass. And that's me.

As opposed to an acoustic bass?

I wish I could play the didgeridoo, that would be sweet.

As opposed to an acoustic bass?

No, a double bass.

I own an electric bass...
I don't know if that counts.

I play piano, flute and my specialty is sax. I have played soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone saxes so far. Bari sax is by far my favorite. I would really like to learn how to play bass guitar though, or even an upright bass for jazz bands and such, but I just don't have the time right now.

I use to play the sax (not that great) when was a wee little lad.

And in college learned how to play...

I did orchestra through school up until college...so 9 years of music/music theory? I did viola mostly, and bass for several years. I plan to pick up bass sometime when I can afford to, also want to learn guitar....but I want to take some lessons so I can build a good foundation.

The thing I need to train most is my rythm. I find it very hard to play guitar while singing. I end up strumming to the rythm I sing, which is of course wrong.

Do you guys know the song Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm of the Crash Test Dummies? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4WbwwhBmRk) I kind of have that voice when I sing. Quite low. Most songs are a few notes too high for me.

I started playing guitar about 2 years ago when my brother started taking lessons. He showed me a few things, and I went from there. I just dont play enough to get any good really. I personally only own 1 guitar, a black Yamaha FG720S which I love, I also play my brother's two electric guitars some, a Schecter and a Jackson (hes into shitty metal), but they are nice guitars as well.

Didnt think anyone would know what it is...
Granted also made sure to pick a picture where you could see the name in the property.

But yeah, learned it in my History of American Music class.

Yeah, I only knew because my step-grandad plays it and we have one of his old ones in the house. It's an interesting instrument.

Does the dulcimer have a middle-eastern type sound? Earl...you need to post yourself playing :p

I play guitar like every other young adult male.

I also truly rock the rock band drums and would love to transfer that skill to a real drumset.

I think it transfers pretty well. My friend owns a drumset and I can bang out a few recognizable songs. I too want a real kit though.
