Just curious everyone's thoughts on this and will we see more developers do this.

UK, February 4, 2009 - EA's John Riccitiello has spoken of how the publisher is to place half of its emphasis on the Wii, as it looks to 'rival Nintendo on their own platform'.

"Nintendo is the leader; they're getting half our emphasis in terms of title counts," said Riccitiello in the company's Q3 earning call, picked up by videogaming24/7, confirming that the hugely successful console will be a key platform for EA.

For the most part won't make a difference since most of EA's games appear on the Wii anyhow, but are taking a gamble with a Dead Space port and sure more stuff down the pipe.

I really do enjoy the cool things that can be done with the wiimote and I believe that trying to bring traditional games to an unconventional console will be challenging, but if they could pull it off and make it fun then they would be quite successful.

I went to a focus group last week based on this, and I know what one of their new titles are. :D I'm pretty confident.

Can you give any hints?

And it's about time, pffff. They've been making so much losses and they finally decide to increase support for the most popular console.

Too little too late. While EA wants to recover from their losses, they waited too long. Plus, even though I don't like sports games much, the bizarro Wii versions are just...yeah. "Casual" gamers may enjoy those but bleh, not me even though I wouldn't anyways.

Though Dead Space...I still can't fathom how that will look.

On-rails shooter, haha. :D For a moment we thought EA took the Wii serious.

Thank god, now maybe EA will stop making shitty games for the 360.

I don't think this is a bad idea, hopefully they'll do something creative and new.

Wii = fail in my opinion.
