I figured the singular movie recommendation thread worked out well.

So what's the one action movie you love.
Now KG pointed out that action is such a weird genre so define it how you want, but let's try for some explosions in it. ;)

Fox 6

Tempted to say Platoon

Got action, but also substance, and a young Johnny Depp! :p

Die Hard

Or Live Free or Die Hard.

First one is way better but the last one is just so....over the top and fantastic

I have a soft spot in my heart for Predator.

"If it bleeds, we can kill it."

Fantastic.

You know what, I'm not sure. I haven't really watched too many action movies that were memorable enough for me to even remember what ones I have and have not seen.

Hmm you are either watching all the wrong ones.
Or all the right ones.

Give some examples of action movies you have seen.

Bond

Die Hard or Die Hard with a Vengeance.

I actually enjoyed all the Die Hard movies (and have the collection on Blu-ray) but those are the ones that do it for me.

Since everyone else stole my answer.

Die Hard.
Just watched again for the first time on Blu-Ray (Confusing syntax for the win ;) )

Die Hard has a nice balance of action and acting, and it's not overly campy or cheesy. I thought about this a little, and while I still think my first choice is "Die Hard," I'd say T1/T2 would be close behind. The Terminator movies rock.

And nice to see Robocop nominated. That movie is really dark and sardonic.

Yeah, I think that's where the next 2 go wrong.
They tone it down big time.

I also can see Terminator 1 and 2 being up there.
I guess the 80s was really an action era.

I don't really know if it could be counted as action, but I say Blade Runner. I can't really think of any pure-action movie I liked.

Hmm, that's a tough question. My laundry list consists of:

Terminator 2
Rambo
Predator
Kill Bill volume 1
Shoot Em Up

I'd probably go with Terminator 2.

It's for the best.
The volleyball scene still makes no sense to me.
I mean did they just need an excuse to show off their bods?

Tony Scott actually admitted the scene was put in strictly for the ladies, or dudes, depending on your preferences.
