Just finished the latest Walking Dead TPB. Not much relevatory plot movement here, but after the last storyline I think we all would like a breather, and it was nice to see the son get some character development. Perfrct time to flesh out that character a little. Overall, good read.
I also read Atomic Robo vol. 1. I was inspired to pick it up after reading the Free Comic Day one shot from Dynamite, and I was very impressed. It reminds me a lot of a Kirkman or Giffen action/comedy book with a little winking to the audience ala Joss Whedon. A very fun read about a immortal robot created by Tesla who always gets dragged into these cold war super-science based stories. Highly recommended and unexpected.
I'm in the middle of Annihilation vol. 2, and its as solid as the first. I've been a fan of Marvels cosmic universe since Jim Starlin's epic run with the Silver Durfer in the early 90's, and the new writers seem to be following Starlin's example. SS's pathos and loneliness was always tangible. Giant epics spanning multiple characters and books never come out as well as stries written within a contained book, so when looking at the story in that persepctive, its actually quite good.
Waiting in the wings I have Wanted, the graphic novel that spawned the Angelina Jolie movie that looks to have little in common with the book; and Manhunter vol. 2
I'm currently waiting on Invincible vol. 10 and Mouse Guard vol. 2
