Common Grounds consists of thirteen self-contained stories (with some continuity between them) involving heroes and villains taking place at and around a chain of coffee shops called Common Grounds.

Written by Troy Hickman with art by Dan Jurgens, George Pérez, Mike Oeming, Chris Bachalo, Sam Kieth, Angel Medina, Carlos Pacheco, Ethan Van Sciver, and others.

Hickman addressed a number of themes in the series which some may consider uncommon in the mainstream comics industry, including aging, obesity, differing moral codes on good vs evil, second chances, patriotism, religious faith, guilt and regret, hope, suicide, self-doubt, responsibility for one's own life and choices, redemption, and a number of touching issues regarding familial relations. He accomplished this by de-mystifying his superheroes and villains and exploring their humanity in a way that normal people could relate to them.

I've been trying to get Penguin to read this series for a long long long while with no success. (You have no idea how long it took me to get him to read Watchmen.) Prove you're better than him and read this book.

Danny was nice enough to call me out on this :P

So of course, I started reading. So far, it is some good stuff.
Only read the first issue but one of the heroes is named Mental Midget... so yeah.

It was a good read. Sadly only 6 issues, but you get some fun tales in there. And until I find out its against the TOS.
