It's been a longggggggggg time since I have posted here and grace you guys with my presence. Glad to see the forum is still up and the guys are doing good.
Neways on to my question.
I live in the Caribbean and want to order in some Ps3s from Canada ( It has to be from there, I really don't have another option)
So my question is
1. Is the 80 gig model the best to buy?
2. One of my friends told me that if I buy a Ps3 from Canada I will automatically connected to the Canada online network when I go online, and that this network isn't as good as the US network, is this true? And if it is true what makes the US network better than the Canadian one.
I appreciate any help I can get on these two issues.
Oh yeah btw, just a small update on my life
I'm now married

No replies??:(
GT doesn't move that fast. ;)
Congrats on the marriage!
The 80GB is the best version, unless you want backwards compatibility for PS2 and PS1 games. That's the base line.
The network information is baloney. You just need to specify your country and you're good to go. I have a Canadian PS3 account as well as a Japanese one, and I can go on the Japanese store whenever I want. I think it all comes down to credit cards and which ones work in what countries.
I think the Sony store is more liberal. Microsoft's is a lot more strict. For example, I can easily have a US Microsoft account and see all the TV shows they offer, but I can't buy anything with a Canadian credit card. PS3 doesn't really have that issue, so I think it's fine.

You actually have decent high speed internet in Barbados?
I'm on St. Thomas right now and the internet speeds here are so slow, even for high speed.
I don't think I could run any game online here without copious amounts of lag.

Don’t buy a PS3! Buy an Xbox 360! Way better in every category hands down. Everyone here should agree.

Congrats on the marriage and welcome back!
I'm looking at a PS3 as well because I need a blu-ray player, but I'm not at all interested in paying more that $299 for it so it will probably be a while. I hear rumors that a price drop is coming in March, but we shall see. I'm hoping that once supply catches up with the holiday demand, the used prices will drop.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, then get a cheaper version. That's what I did, because at the time, I already had an 80 gig, backwards compatability, 4 USB-slot system.
The one I have now is I believe 40 gig, 2 USB slots (You don't need them unless you play rock band - and even then there are adaptors for 40 bucks) no backwards compatability (I still have a PS2), and I only paid 250 after tax for it.
However, if you want a totally brand spankin' new, top of the line, brag to your friends about your toys models, then yeah - your wait might be a while.

That's what I'm talking about. I can't seem to find ANY PS3, used or new, for under $300. Heck, broken ones are still selling for 200 to 250 on ebay.

Nope you really don't get decent speeds here (well compare to like USA ), If want like really fast speed you may have to sell a body part or two.
At work I get about 1.8mb download with ADSL, but that's what our 1 and only ISP offers as a basic package, the highest is 6mbs ADSL.
I really dislike LIME ( The ISP in Barbados)
WHen you said St. Thomas did you mean St. Thomas in barbados or St. THomas in another Caribbean island, I assumed you meant St. Thomas but I'm not sure.
O and I want to bring in the Ps3's and sell them maybe I'll bring in some Wii's as well.

Haven't you been married for almost two years or so?
Is this really the first time you mentioned it.

And you never did get a chance to tell me what games you were selling... I think Tyler kept cutting you off or something.
