2 red lights

My Xbox had the 2 red light problem the other day, which apparently is overheating, the step before the red ring of death... i was surprised to find out that it was overheating, because it was on just for 3 min. I tried to shut it down, but it was no use, I had to unplug it. after unplugging-plugging it for a couple of times i gave up and let it to cool for a day. I opened it again today, to check the update, but I'm still having those two red lights, 5 sec. after opening. Also the fan is very loud (which was for about a couple of days), it stars off normal, but then stars going crazy and the red lights come flashing. Oh, and the air coming out from behind is not hot, it's not even warm. I tried to put it standing, right side up,but heard something rattling inside.

Bube doesn't want to open it up, but it looks like our only choice right now... that or sending it to England where we bought it from...

any suggestions? should we open it up, and tinker with the heat sinks and fan? i really don't care about the warranty, but what if i screw it up, and it's gone for good?

or just wait until Xbox comes to Turkey or send it to England?

I dunno how tech savvy you are. I'd say google around for a how-to-open-up-a-360. I'm sure there are plenty of guides.

Otherwise...get a screw driver and dig in. It's just a PC with a fancy compact design. You should probably be good.

Opening your consoles isn't just useful, it's fun too. My brother once spilled a glass of lemonade over our N64. We bought a new one, but we opened up the broken one after half a year. We cleaned it and it worked again. :D
Oh and I was always taking apart controllers (NES, SNES, N64), just to see how they worked, sometimes to fix them.

I'd give it a try, unless returning the Box to England isn't that expensive...
