..to a 250gig! :rambo: :flame: :ripper: :impact: :Pulse:  :chainsaw: :trans: :sludge: :minigun2: :flak: :minigun: :enforcer:

Hell yeah!

I can install every game, download everything off of the PS store, and rip every CD I have in the highest quality. And all it took was 90 bucks. :D

The only downside is the old, 20 gig hard drive had bitch screws and I couldn't take them out with stripping them entirely. So I've got in there with two Pokemon dog tags holding it perfectly in place. (There isn't many small metal things that are lying around the house.)

The fact pokemon tags hold it in makes it extremely badass.

You can also store movies and TV shows on there! Nice!

Ok, here's what I want to know - why should I buy a 80GB PS3 instead of a 40GB one? Just curious..

There isn't really much of a reason to now, since the 80gb is now no longer backward compatible. Unless the extra 40 gigs matters to you, but you'd probably want to upgrade the hard drive anyway.

I think BOTH 80gig and 40gig aren't backwards compatible anymore, only through software.

Seriously though, try and find used. PS3's a freaking warhorse. I've only heard of a few cases where there was problems, but never Used horror stories.

Well, I didn't mean that I was going to buy one. I would love to though :)

My cousin bought a 80GB one recently, but thought a lot about buying a 40GB bundle. It says clearly on the 80GB box that it doesn't play PS2 games, but we both thought that it did, and the 40GB one didn't.

What do you mean by backwards compatibility by software?
