IGN's Matt seems to hate it. 5/10

1UP seemed to love it. A-

GameSpy says it's great fun for kids and multiplayer. 7/10

The problem seems to be that you have to create your own quality. Matt didn't put any effort in it and all he ended up with was garbage. The lady of 1UP had a musical background and she really got a lot out of the game.

What I'm personally interested in is the jam sessions with overdubbing. First you play the guitar, then you add the piano, bass, bagpipe, whatever. Up to 6 instruments. And you can do variations on the standard tunes. Like in this movie:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-KrPgcUcKyU&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-KrPgcUcKyU&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

So is anyone getting this? I'm afraid I'm not, I don't have time/money for it.

I don't know, I wonder if you can rent it?

I totally know what Matt's talking about with the MIDI music. I was sorely disappointed by SSB's soundtrack which was almost 90% midi. It's like they put all their effort into one game every five years, and that's only happened twice so far. SSBM, and Mario Galaxy. :( Although, Kirby's Air Ride had some orchestral.. that was awesome.

Even Twilight Princess got shanked in the music department. I was pissed.

Anyways, I know what Matt's getting at and he's sent a good message with that score, but I don't think it was entirely fair. I played the game at PAX, and it's good. Not 5/10 good, maybe around 7.
