One of the year's highly anticipated title has slipped to Nov 14th due to some offensive Muslim lyrics found in one of the game's tracks.

Well, I wonder how much a delay into the holiday gaming rush will deflate sales of a title.

3 weeks is a long time.

Those muslims with their offensive remarks again.

Actually I got the impression that it was offensive for muslims...

The problem is, this time, the lyrics are actually offensive, talking about the earth perishing and everyone dying. So they have reason to be upset this time.

There are enough quotes of the Revelation that could contain similar things. Yet that's pretty popular stuff in songs.

Actually I don't see them use those songs in game soundtracks either... :)

Lame. But three weeks from now, when the game finally releases, this "disappointment of the year" (as quoted from some drama queen in the comment section of that link) will be little more than a blip on some small corner of the world wide internet.

As an N64 owner and lover back in the day, I would know. :p

The sales for this game have already been Falcon-punched in the groin by the current economy woes. I doubt a delay will make it any worse.

The holiday gaming rush has also been cancelled. You may all return to your cells.

I certainly hope this game creates more of a splash than that...it's the kinda game that the industry needs to embrace to move in a positive direction.

No you misunderstood me (and reading again, I can see how). I meant the delay will be forgotten, not the game. I think the game will be huge.

my bad...i thought you were referring to the game itself, not the delay. and while i'm less optimistic about the game selling 'huge', i really hope it does. +1 from me.

The game sounds awesome. For a while I was afraid they were setting the bar too high... They kept adding stuff. And now there's talk about a first person mode...

The reason for the delay is fucking stupid. Just because a song quotes the Qur’an, the game can't be released on schedule?

If it quoted the bible nobody would care.

I call bullshit, man.

Even a lot of muslims think the delay is silly.

Observation: Muslim culture is worse than Scientology in America with regards to controversy, PCness, interpretation, etc.

1st Amendment ftw....

when you get down to it...songs are about death, drugs or relationships

that's it. that's 100% of lyrical content summarized. music is just poetry sung.

But the quotes shouldn't offend Muslims. They're offending stupid white people because it's stupid and the fact that they can delay a game because one song in the game quotes the holy text of another culture just seems downright racist to me.

..and stupid. Do you guys know what it means to "superman dat ho?"

I mean what the fuck, American music is full of horrible context.

But like I said, 1st Amendment. In this case I'm siding with the game makers and agreeing with DyLfLon, stupid white people.

I personally think it's kinda dumb that it got pulled. If it fits in with the theme of the game, and wasn't intended that way, then there's no reason to be offended.
