I figured I would try something new especially with the holiday months upon us.

We take a look at all the big games coming out in a month and those who buy it or play it can offer their recommendation to others on the fence.

While I know it isn't out yet, Magus was telling me about Fallout 3 and some other people can't seem to not mention it so I guess for someone who has never played the franchise and knowing what it is... should I rent or buy? And yeah I know buying is risky but sometimes it pays off.

Rent. Rent rent rent. I was in the same position as you, and I didn't like what I played at PAX. Give it a rent.

Fallout 3 is the big game this month.

Its going to have huge sales right off the bat.

Fallout 3 is not going to be a rent! You couldn’t possibly scratch the surface of the game in 5 days. IF YOU DIDN’T LIKE OBLIVION THEN YOU WON’T LIKE FALLOUT 3. Fallout 3 is basically Oblivion in new skin. True they tweaked some stuff and added in turn based fights but it’s the same at its core. I liked Oblivion in fact I have over 100 hours in it and I haven’t even played the actual story. If you don’t like time consuming games like that then maybe Fable 2 will be better for you. It’s supposed to be the same just less serious and smaller. Or how about Saints Row 2? I know that everyone is already done with GTA 4 and the DLC (for use 360 users) won’t be out until Christmas time. If you’re into survival horror there’s the new Silent Hill or Dead Space both of those look good but I haven’t played either. October is a good month to be a avid gamer that for sure.

Only 100 hours? You're not a true fan then.

But I tend to agree with Gnome, I think Fallout 3 will be a buy. Bethesda has a proven record of great games (assuming you like their kind of games) and I don't see Fallout 3 being much different.

But seriously. You Americans are so lucky that you get the best WiiWare game yet. We Europeans have to buy a retail version. :( I think I'll pass.. and hope they'll release it on WiiWare after all.
