Chapter 4- The Source of Evil

Thear was shaken. While he was able to give himself a little cover, it was still the middle of winter. The nights were long and the cold harsh. He closed his eyes for only a brief second before images of his pursuers flashed before him.

There he was being pursued across the desert by those who would see him harmed. There he was being chased through the burnt remains of the village of Oar. He could barely catch his breath as he saw the frozen Taverners in his way.

They had chased him across the world. He did not know why their pursuit was so endless while their thirst for justice so everlasting. He simply wanted a piece of mind and to be left alone.

But no! They would never allow that to happen. To them, he was a monster. A creature that needed to be contained. They feared what they did not understand. And he was a mystery to them all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fire rained from the sky as ships were crushed between huge tidal ways and tsunamis. The warriors could gain no ground as the earth beneath them shook violently sending most of the warriors flying.

They had finally cornered the monster known as Thear, but in doing so had released his true potential. He controlled the element of fire which he used to bring destruction to so many areas. He controlled the flow of the water which was the element of life; he however sought different means. He would watch as the water suffocated his foes and their eyes began to bulge out of their head. This bought him many of good nights.

He had control over the element of wind/air. He controlled it with such deadly precision that he could behead his foes from a distance. And finally he controlled the earth itself. Using it as both a shield and a weapon, he was damn near invulnerable.

His would be attackers had chased him around the world for years trying to contain him before he became a master of all the elements. They feared he would be unstoppable then. And they seem to have been correct in their assessment, they could not break through his defense. He was too powerful.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dear, I want you to pass along words of the Trinity of Light. The three souls who would be able to control the one thing Thear can not. They will control the lives of those creatures who inhabit our planet. Each will have his own domain."

The saga speaking pointed his wife towards the sky, "The first shall control the air and everything that comes with it."

He then took his wife to the lake, "The second will have control of our underwater brethen."

Finally he took his wife to the mouth of the forest, "The last one shall continue the animals who call land their home."

"This is all very important to know my love, but why are you telling me?" The wife began to cry as she asked.

"Do not cry my dear. I know my destiny is to stop this creature here and now. I also know it will mean I must sacrifice myself, but I will not leave the world defenseless. For in its darkest hour, the Trinity of Light will emerge."

The man kissed his wife goodbye and jetted off.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thear was enjoying the destruction he was creating. Why had he tried for so long to hide who he was. This was more fun. The death, the torment, the power!

As he took in his handy work, he felt an arrow pierce his heart. He looked down only to realize it was not an arrow that had pierced his defense, but a man. A tiny man with a bird like beak. Thear could feel his powers slipping away from him. The man had poisoned him. He was fading fast.

"This can not be happening! Not after all I've been through!" Thear could feel his powers fading faster and faster. "I will not give this all up! No, I need the power!"

"Your time has come Thear. You did not think the balance of the world would allow you to run rampant for too long?"

Thear thought about his attackers words. There had to be balance in the world so he could not lose his powers. They would have to be placed back into the universe, but he couldn't control that. Or could he! He gained some control over his body and began to muster all his reserve strenght.

The frightened saga backed away. Thear's body began to shrivel up. The saga knew what was coming but had to make sure he could not leave.

Thear's body collapsed upon itself and then for just a mere moment there was silence. Then came a huge explosion of lights and energy flowed freely throughout the night sky.

The saga looked at his destiny as his body was being surrounded by the explosion. "The world has seen the destruction of the source of evil. Now, it will see its rebirth." Those were the saga's final words as he got blown to pieces.

Magus sat in his bedroom lost once again in his thoughts. He could not figure it out while he had good friends such as Raged and Bluefire. he always felt so alone so isolated from everyone else.

He has felt this way from birth; his mother had even mentioned to him on a few occasions that he was a very independent kid. He always felt that was her kind way of saying that he was cold and distant. He had never really formed any close relationships. There was a wall between him and anyone else.

He climbed out of bed and looked outside. From somewhere in his room, a voice spoke to him in a quiet whisper, "I know what you are going through. You feel alone. You feel scared. You wonder if you will ever have a normal relationship. I could help you!"

Magus looked around the room he could not find the source of the voice, "Who is there? Where are you? How can you help me!" The last remark was all he was concerned about.

"It does not matter who I am or where I am. All that you need worry yourself about is how I can help you. I can help you unlock the true potential."

"My true potential?" Magus was confused.

"Yes my dear Magus and yes I do know your name. I sense in you great power. Power so strong that you could help change the world. So allow me to help you?"

The words "power" and "help" kept repeating itself in Magus' head, "I accept. Now tell me how to begin."

"Most excellent. And we shall begin right away."

It only took like half a week, but here is the second part. (Its been done for a few days just haven't been bored enough to type it up ;) )

Geo and Raged paced around the schoolyard. It had been almost two weeks since they last heard from their friend, Magus. Now out of the blue he called them, and asked them to meet him at the school yard in 10 minutes. They dropped everything they were doing and rushed over to the schoolyard to meet him. As they walked back and forth, glancing at the clock as they did, they grew more nervous as the minute hand moved further away from their designated time.

Finally when they were beginning to lose hope, they felt a minor tremble beneath their feet. They thought nothing of it. Then it happened again this tim heavy enough to sway their balance. Then it became a full scale earthquake as the ground beneath them began to rock back and forth. The quakes stopped suddenly.

Out of the dust walked a man, Geo made out the figure first. It was Magus, he rushed over to his friend to greet him. Magus was taken aback by his friend's show of concern.

Raged was not as pleasant. Demanding to know where Magus had been for the past two weeks.

"You won't believe it anyway, but I will tell you," Magus began his speech, "I was learning to unlock my true potential. My hidden skills as it were."

Geo and Raged looked puzzled. Raged was the first to speak and he questioned Magus about this "unlocking your potential/hidden powers" thing.

"This will start to sound crazy, but trust me it isn't." Magus pleaded before he began his story proper. "So it seems that my body houses the power of an ancient being. One that was hunted and "handled" before they became a problem. This guy was able to send out his cosmic energy before he was finally vanquished." There was a break in the story.

"We are not saying we don't believe you, but this is a bit of a stretch, no?" Geo had to ask.

"If you don't believe me, I will give you a demostration." Magus told them to stand back. The ground began to shake once again, "You see I control the earth and the ground." He continued his demostration by rising the ground level than lower it. "I am still learning but I have basic control over it." He said as he returned the schoolyard back to normal.

This time Geo and Raged's jaws were on the floor. "That was awesome man!" Geo said when he was finally able to speak.

Raged was a little more apprehensive to applaud his friends new found abilities. He simply patted him on the back and walked away.

After Raged left, Geo turned to Magus, "Do you plan on coming home now?"

"I wish, but you saw my skills only after two weeks. Imagine a month or even six months!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Books, bags and lamps flew across the room. Raged was upset, he was furious and he was jealous. How could life be so cruel to him. He liked Geo and dealt with Magus, but he always felt between the three of them he was always the most special. He would be the one to go on and do good things. Now life played its cruel hand, and it was Magus who came out with the extraordinary gifts.

He began tossing more stuff across in the room in his anger. "Yes that anger is what I have always enjoyed most about you, Raged." Raged stopped his tantrum to find the source of the voice. There was no one else in the room. "Do not worry to find me. Just know that like your friend, I can help you become special. I can help you make a difference."

'You can? How?" Raged was intrigued. Maybe the universe didn't hate him.

"Let me worry about all the details. You just know we have a lot of work to do!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Geo sat in his bed playing around with a tiny scythe. It was odd how a symbol of death reminded him of good times. He remembered the one Halloween that he, Maguss and Raged all dressed like death, an angel and Father Time. The good times was all he had to hold onto these days. It had been a little more than a month since Magus' disappearance, and while he surfaced for that single afternoon nothing else was heard for him. Now, it has also been two weeks or so since Raged
s disappearance. And Geo figured with the strange circumstances around Raged's disappearance that they were connected.

Geo could no longer bear to be in his own head so he rolled out of bed. He began to dance away the demons in his room with his scythe. The mini-adventure allowed him to clear his head.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hours later, Geo slept with the scythe on his stomach. It had bought him some comfort on the day. As he drifted off to sleep, he swore he felt himself rise off the mattress, but it was only a dream. A dream where he was gently floating through the sky.

As he floated around, a strange man in a hooded mask approached him, walking on the air. "Young Geo, "the strange man started, "unlike your friends you did not posses a certain quality that drew my powers to you."

Geo felt insulted. "Do not feel that way my friend," the strange man spoke sensing Geo's disappointment, "I was just commanding you. While your friend, Magus, had stone walled himself off from most of society, your other friend, Raged, had secretly been attempting to hide a temper that would frighten most volcanoes. You on the other hand had always seemed so level headed, so calm and so rationale. Then I realized why my powers were drawn to you."

"Your powers?" Geo butted in.

"Aww yes. You see the powers your friends have gained were mine first." The strange man explained how he was Thear an elemental being that was destroyed years ago because society was afraid of his potential. He than told Geo the details of his death and how he now lives on in 5 pieces. "And that brings us to you. Your friends already control the elements of earth and fire. There is a 3rd who was born with a natural skill to control water. You however have the most special of elements. You will control the air and the wind. It does not seem like much, but it is the element we all need to breathe to survive and it is always around us."

"This sounds cool and all, but how do I know this simply isn't a dream?"

"A dream dear man. You are awake. Wide awake. Do you want me to pinch you to prove it?" Thear began to laugh.

"How? What?" Geo was confused now as well.

"You seemed to have began showing abilities before you are properly trained. That is good and will come in handy. For with my powers, you will be invincible! No one will stand in our way?"

"Invincible? Why would I want to be invincible? And stand in our way? Why would anyone?"

"You will make enemies Geo, but now that I have nothing but the best interest of this planet in my heart. So if you choose, we may begin.'

Okay that's that for now.
I have other stuff written out, but its all about getting it from the page to the computer.
