Chapter 4- The Source of Evil
Thear was shaken. While he was able to give himself a little cover, it was still the middle of winter. The nights were long and the cold harsh. He closed his eyes for only a brief second before images of his pursuers flashed before him.
There he was being pursued across the desert by those who would see him harmed. There he was being chased through the burnt remains of the village of Oar. He could barely catch his breath as he saw the frozen Taverners in his way.
They had chased him across the world. He did not know why their pursuit was so endless while their thirst for justice so everlasting. He simply wanted a piece of mind and to be left alone.
But no! They would never allow that to happen. To them, he was a monster. A creature that needed to be contained. They feared what they did not understand. And he was a mystery to them all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fire rained from the sky as ships were crushed between huge tidal ways and tsunamis. The warriors could gain no ground as the earth beneath them shook violently sending most of the warriors flying.
They had finally cornered the monster known as Thear, but in doing so had released his true potential. He controlled the element of fire which he used to bring destruction to so many areas. He controlled the flow of the water which was the element of life; he however sought different means. He would watch as the water suffocated his foes and their eyes began to bulge out of their head. This bought him many of good nights.
He had control over the element of wind/air. He controlled it with such deadly precision that he could behead his foes from a distance. And finally he controlled the earth itself. Using it as both a shield and a weapon, he was damn near invulnerable.
His would be attackers had chased him around the world for years trying to contain him before he became a master of all the elements. They feared he would be unstoppable then. And they seem to have been correct in their assessment, they could not break through his defense. He was too powerful.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Dear, I want you to pass along words of the Trinity of Light. The three souls who would be able to control the one thing Thear can not. They will control the lives of those creatures who inhabit our planet. Each will have his own domain."
The saga speaking pointed his wife towards the sky, "The first shall control the air and everything that comes with it."
He then took his wife to the lake, "The second will have control of our underwater brethen."
Finally he took his wife to the mouth of the forest, "The last one shall continue the animals who call land their home."
"This is all very important to know my love, but why are you telling me?" The wife began to cry as she asked.
"Do not cry my dear. I know my destiny is to stop this creature here and now. I also know it will mean I must sacrifice myself, but I will not leave the world defenseless. For in its darkest hour, the Trinity of Light will emerge."
The man kissed his wife goodbye and jetted off.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thear was enjoying the destruction he was creating. Why had he tried for so long to hide who he was. This was more fun. The death, the torment, the power!
As he took in his handy work, he felt an arrow pierce his heart. He looked down only to realize it was not an arrow that had pierced his defense, but a man. A tiny man with a bird like beak. Thear could feel his powers slipping away from him. The man had poisoned him. He was fading fast.
"This can not be happening! Not after all I've been through!" Thear could feel his powers fading faster and faster. "I will not give this all up! No, I need the power!"
"Your time has come Thear. You did not think the balance of the world would allow you to run rampant for too long?"
Thear thought about his attackers words. There had to be balance in the world so he could not lose his powers. They would have to be placed back into the universe, but he couldn't control that. Or could he! He gained some control over his body and began to muster all his reserve strenght.
The frightened saga backed away. Thear's body began to shrivel up. The saga knew what was coming but had to make sure he could not leave.
Thear's body collapsed upon itself and then for just a mere moment there was silence. Then came a huge explosion of lights and energy flowed freely throughout the night sky.
The saga looked at his destiny as his body was being surrounded by the explosion. "The world has seen the destruction of the source of evil. Now, it will see its rebirth." Those were the saga's final words as he got blown to pieces.

Magus sat in his bedroom lost once again in his thoughts. He could not figure it out while he had good friends such as Raged and Bluefire. he always felt so alone so isolated from everyone else.
He has felt this way from birth; his mother had even mentioned to him on a few occasions that he was a very independent kid. He always felt that was her kind way of saying that he was cold and distant. He had never really formed any close relationships. There was a wall between him and anyone else.
He climbed out of bed and looked outside. From somewhere in his room, a voice spoke to him in a quiet whisper, "I know what you are going through. You feel alone. You feel scared. You wonder if you will ever have a normal relationship. I could help you!"
Magus looked around the room he could not find the source of the voice, "Who is there? Where are you? How can you help me!" The last remark was all he was concerned about.
"It does not matter who I am or where I am. All that you need worry yourself about is how I can help you. I can help you unlock the true potential."
"My true potential?" Magus was confused.
"Yes my dear Magus and yes I do know your name. I sense in you great power. Power so strong that you could help change the world. So allow me to help you?"
The words "power" and "help" kept repeating itself in Magus' head, "I accept. Now tell me how to begin."
"Most excellent. And we shall begin right away."
