So it's occured to me I have more money than I know what to do with. And I feel the need to expand my system stranglehold.
So now the question is, 360 or Wii?
I want both for seperate reasons. The 360 mainly just for Halo online, and the Wii for Brawl and Fire Emblem.
So what should I do. One, the other, or both?

If you have a Ps3, then Wii...........
if you don't have a Ps3............X360

I do have a PS3.
But why that logic?
Only because they share the same basic games?

He has a PS3.
But it would be nice to get more people into our little circle.
However, I personally wouldn't buy an Xbox for Halo 3 online. It just isn't as good as Halo 2 online for so many reasons. But I know you've played it before but must like.
On the same hand, there is a nice community of Smashers on GT and we play like every night (ok at least me and Bluefire :lolz: ) So personally.. I would say buy them both cheap if you can find it.
And if you get a 360, get the Orange Box.

I could get orange box for PS3 anyways.
Any actual game I want to play, I'll just get for the PS3.
I only want a 360 for Halo 3, to play with my friends online. A ton of them play it constantly, and I'm feeling pretty left out. So I was thinking of just snagging a used one.
But I really do want a wii, to be honest.
The problem either way is i'd need a wireless router, so I don't have to run various multiple long ethernet cables from the modem upstairs, to the systems downstairs. And I know nothing about that sort of thing.
Maybe I will get both.
Today.
Who knows.

Well then I say go with the Wii.
Honestly, Halo is more fun when its just with friends since I enjoy the off brand games like Grifball (which reminds me Grifball tonight! Bond? Fox?) but as for the online itself. It's just so messed up and I don't like most of the stages they have. And half of the game types.
The Wii has a better backlog of games if you only want a 360 for Halo and anything else you could get for the PS3.
My rule of thumb when giving advice to friends is make a list of things you really really want it for. If you can't think of maybe 5, it probably isn't worth it. What happens with the 360 if your friends find the next big game?

Just two additional points.
1)If you made this thread, you worked out your whole issue with GT or a better proxy?
2)Even though, you don't know much about router just keep your eyes on these pages
-Xbox Compatible Routers (http://www.xbox.com/en-us/support/connecttolive/xbox360/homenetworking/equipment.htm)
-Incompatible Wii Routers (http://www.actioncube.net/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/onlineWirelessRouterIncompatible.jsp)
This way atleast you don't buy a router that wouldn't work anyway.
And also just as a head's up if you want wireless on the 360 you also need to buy a wireless adapter which still runs 100 bucks or so if I remember correctly.
Or if you have a laptop/desktop that could run on a wireless network, you can do a bypass which I use.

I'm still using a proxy, but its letting me make threads now.
Odd.
I've decided with a Wii. I'm heading to get it in an hour or so.
The games I'm getting off the bat (I hope) are Brawl, Fire Emblem and Zelda. Maybe SSX down the line.
Suggestions on games would be a good thing, too.

Would say a 360 but thats a biased opinion and you only want it for Halo, so good choice with the Wii.

I agree with everyone else, get a Wii. You have a PS3, and you only want a 360 for Halo 3...while the Wii has multiple things you could enjoy. :)

If you have so much money, why not get both?
Worse case scenario: you sell one of them if you don't like one of them.
I know myself and a few others would love to have a new 'smash brother' to play with.

(I am getting both, just not at the same time)
So far I got the Wii, Smash, and Fire Emblem. The store (rogers video, because it's down the street) didn;t have SSX, Mario or Zelda. I think I'll live though.
I feel like I'm 7.

Are you confirming that Nintendo am teh kiddiez?
Anyhow, if you like Fire Emblem (and i know aren't the same type of game especially considering where the console versions went) I recommend Batallion Wars II.
Also found these not sure if good or not since don't follow Canadian prices.
Future Shop
Wii Mario Kart $44.99
Wii Boom Blox $44.99
Wii Super Mario Galaxy $44.99
Wii SSB Brawl $44.99
New code for Amazon.ca for $10 off $40 is apparently MAPBIZNCSAVE
And did you pick up the router or is that later?

Those prices are pretty much on par.
And no router yet. I have to figure out what I'm doing for that. The set up right now is highly inconvenient. The modem is upstairs at one end of the house, and the systems and my TV are downstairs at the exact opposite end of the house. They could not be farther apart, or more inconveniently placed.

One thing that is nice about the Wii is that it comes with wifi, all you need is the router, with the Xbox you have to get another part.
