Well here's the deal. I am about to leave St. Louis behind as my hometown for the first time in my 25 year life. True I have been spending more time recently in other parts of Missouri and the U.S. for school, but St. Louis has always been my permanent address. Tomorrow I pack up the car and head to Chicago, IL.
Why? Well, I'm starting my first real job. I'll be a Safety Coordinator for Turner Construction. I'm excited and looking forward to having my own place and a job to pay for it.
I'll be living in an Extended Stay for several days until my apartment is ready. Not sure if I'll be able to connect my 360 to the internet there, but I'll try. Once I get settled into my 1 bedroom apartment, I should be all set. Anybody going to be in Chicago?

Good luck in your new job and in Chicago. I've been there many times while touring and I'll probably be back in October. It's a big city, but from what I've seen I like it.

Moving is always an exciting journey. I can't help but want to listen to the Windwaker sailing theme when I enter this thread.
Anyway, hope your new job goes well and that you like your new home.
Hopefully, your boss won't be like Michael Scott.

I've grown up in the outlying suburbs of Chicago my entire life, and I've been attending school at Chicago...so for 9 months out of the year I'm in the city.
I love it...short summary of how I feel.
It really is a wonderful city; it has a gorgeous skyline, a beautiful lake front, and a lot of the action ISN'T in the downtown area. In fact, most of the time The Loop shuts down around 10 or 11 on weekends, and 9 or 10 during the week. But, there is always something going down on the North Side. There are tons of bars, clubs, and restaurants. There are so many wonderful restaurants...
There's always something going on in the City, some show or festival or event. And there are tons of stuff to explore...there's too much to do, basically.
Oh, and it is a clean city. They keep it clean, the downtown area is very nice. And, they're slowly cleaning up the Southwest side, which is good news for everyone
I think you will like it. But, some people don't like the city. Hopefully you like cities.

I know that Jason and KillerGremlin live out in Chicago or close by.
Also Squrel but he doesn't post often.
I went in early June, and plan to go back before year is up.
Speak of the devil, KG posts the same time as I did.
I guess we share a bond after.. you know what nevermind.
haha

Sadly I don't have the updated information for you.
And where in Chicago is your school?
May have to say hey next time in town.
*Remembers conversation*
On second thought, maybe not at the school.

My university is stretched out along numerous streets....but, it's mostly between Halsted, Harrison, Roosevelt and Morgan. It actually has two parts of campus in Chicago, one is west on Taylor street, but the main part where I reside is around the area between those 4 main roads.
