Yeah, I know a name change. It will continue to go through name changes until I find something that works or if someone comes up with a killer name. :lolz:
This is the heroes end of the whatever you want to call it, there will be one more part posted soon which is more of a jumping off point. After that, it shall be opened up for people to give in ideas on origins, powers and plot points.
Chapter 2
Fox read through the newspaper wearing a look of shock and disgust on the frontpage was the story of Alpha and The Dude's death. Fox always looked up to Alpha and the Dude, they were some of this nation's first heroes and some of the best.
When Fox was done he put down the newspaper, and his heart grew heavy. Not because of the death of these two fine heroes, but because he feared he knew who were behind the attacks. And if he was correct, he feared who their next targets would be.
Fox finished the last of his morning drink and looked around his kitchen until he found the phone. He picked it up and dialed out to his closest friend.
"Morning friendo," came [b]Swan's voice on the other end.
"I know you tend to avoid reading the newspaper, but have you heard the latest?"
Swan was hesitate to respond, "I haven't but from the tone in your voice it does not sound good at all."
"These days my friend, it never is, it never is. The Dude and Alpha this time man!"
"Oh... come on! You remember that one charity event we attended about a year back? They seemed like such nice gentlemen."
"I wish that was the worst of it my friend,"
Swan took a deep breath before inquiring, "What do you mean friendo?"
"I been thinking about these attacks where they started and where they are heading. And my head keeps on landing on one group. "
"Oh...." was all Swan could answer with because he knew where this was going.
"I know we were both helping to find the 3rd before they turned their attention to us, but it looks like we may have to face a greater challenge sooner than hoped."
"That may be the case, but we can double our effort. Are you finished your breakfast?"
"Sure am."
"Then let's meet up in like 10 minutes. We begin the search anew."
"I will see you in 10 my friend." Fox hung up the phone.

In the back of the bar, there was a lone table with a lone figure sitting under a single lamp. On the table sat 3 empty handles, a dozen shot glasses and a mountain of beer cans spread out. The lone figure at the table half sat, half slumped over his chair. The single light source flickered on and off.
The lone figure began to sway back and forth before his glaze became fixed on the scene in front of him. He couldn't hold back laughing. What had began as a simple ritual had turned into a full blown addiction. It had been a bad year.
He flashbacked to the first time he had come into this place. Almost a year ago to the day, he was in a somber mood, but it would not defeat him. One of the best men any country had ever seen was found dead in one of the most vicious attacks that he could remember in his life. So the night of his friend's funeral, the lone figure decided he would come to this very bar and have a single drink to celebrate his fallen friend's life. The next time he came in here, there were two more lives added to the list to celebrate. The list began to grow at such a rapid pace that he found himself in here almost nightly.
Now a year later, the sight in front of him was just a sad reminder of how much the Superhero community had lost over the past year. It was also a dark omen for the future. For all they had lost, there were still more heroes who would be taking their final breath soon. And he could be one of them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He stood high atop the mountain with the sun glaring in his eyes. What he could make out though was just as majestic and glorious as it always was. No matter how often he came up here, the view always took his breath away.
While the view was breath-taking, the time was not. He always came up here to think and clear his head. This time the death of Alpha and The Dude were on his mind. His heart was heavy with their loss but his mind was occupied with other thoughts.
When was it going to be his turn? When would those bastards who had taken out so many turn their focus to him?
Maybe, he wouldn't give them the chance. Maybe he should go out on his own terms.
While these thought were racing through his mind, he spread his arms along the mountaintop. Took a long deep breath and plunged downwards.
As he free falled, the view of the ground grew larger and more pronounced. This would be his escape. His one chance out. He continued to fall.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He watched his brother through the single window in his room. His brother was out there once again saving the day. He was proud of his brother don't get him wrong. And it wasn't that he envied his brother. He just felt so awful about the whole situation. It had been nearly 3 years since some random man on the street had stopped him with the bizarre message.
He remembered the day fondly because it scared him so much. A man first approached him in the streets near the local shops. He of course heeded his parents' warnings and tried to avoid speaking with this stranger. But the man would not let him pass. He tried to break left and the man was there blocking his path. He tried to break right and once again the man stood in front of him. Finally, he tried to double back and get help but he found his path blocked a 3rd time.
Finally, he resolved to his faith. This man would do what he wanted to him. And there was no way to stop him.
The man took him into a private booth. And sat him down. He closed the blinds. And then he turned his attention to the scared young man.
"There are forces in this world that would do you harm before your time is ready. I am here as a messenger and a protector. You will be the final part of the Trinity of Light that will help to push back the forces of evil when the time is right. Until then, you must remain off the radar. Do not draw attention to yourself. And remember your time is coming."
By the time, the young man opened his eyes. The older man was gone. The young men sat in the room for almost an hour both shocked at what he imagined was going to happened and stunned at what did.
This was over 3 years ago though. And there was no sign of his coming of age. There was the increasing death of heroes, but there had been no summon for him to rise to the occasion. Maybe, it was a cruel joke the world was playing on him.
