Alright Nintendo. I think you need to get with the program here.

Try appealing to everyone with your console as much as you want, but you still know that in the end the younger people, and people our age that have been playing games for the good portion of our lives are going to be the ones wasting away in front of our televisions all the time.

So why don't you just give us what we want?

Not more peripherals, not more throwaway kids games, or Wii Shuffleboard, or whatever else they decide they can try to sell to older people.

We want Zelda, we want more Metroid, more Mario, more originality. Hell, even a Pokemon console RPG would get people interested because it's Nintendo's first Pokemon console game that isn't just a rehash of crap, and I don't care if Pokemon XD on the GCN was close, because it wasn't. We want something for you to start from the ground up.

I just don't want good things to start happening during the winter and the beginning of next year.

It's too long to wait!

We bought the Wii with high hopes, and I know that I don't want it all to die down now, when it could very well be dominating...

To be fair we got Zelda
We got Mario (which is an amazingly awesome game)
We got Metroid
We got Kart
We got Smash

It's not that Nintendo doesn't support the hardcore. It's that Nintendo blew their load pretty early this gen to take a commanding lead.

Now there needs to be some turnaround time in them developing the next wave of games. The casual titles I assume take a lot less time and effort to make.

And there are games Nintendo has that they don't show much on that should have some potential.

But yeah this summer is bad for gaming in general. :lolz:

Yeah, I want to replay a lot of the major core games this summer. I'm pretty happy with what we have, but I protest Wii Fit pretty harshly, as well as the ton of the shovelware. I was one of the only people that was sorely disappointed with the Raving Rabbids franchise.

So yeah, I'm very interested to see what's coming. I'm definitely interested in Animal Crossing, but by itself I don't know how well it can perform.

It isn't that Nintendo isn't giving us the good games, it's that there isn't really anything in the way of third party games.

I'd like to know how many people as of now are not planning on buying Wii Sports 2. That way we could compare it to how many people actually end up buying it on day 1. Maybe I should put up a poll.

I'll be buying it. Looks kind of fun, and I want the motion plus thing that comes with it.

Well, I don't -really- want that, but since I'll probably -need- it, I guess I'll get it.

I also think it's strange that they decided to make people pay more money for something they promised was going to be available at launch.

I mean come on.

That's just begging people to call Nintendo money-loving scams. No offense to Nintendo.

To me it's just not something I would have expected from them.

Zelda wasn't Wii-exclusive.
Mario was good, hooray!
Metroid was very similar to the Gamecube installments, only with Wii-Control
Kart got average reviews and didn't most people get bored of it after day 2?
Smash Brawl is a lot like Bros. and Melee, no? Innovative, I think not

Nintendo has certainly given the impression that they are less concerned about the "hardcore gamer" this generation. Maybe that impression is invalid, but based on what I have heard from owners of both a Wii and a PS3/Xbox360, the Wii collects dust and the PS3/360 get the most playtime.
