Welcome to the town of Gamesville, detectives!
Thank you for coming down here on such short notice! I’ll get straight to the point. We’re convinced there’s been a murder, but I’m sorry to say our local law enforcement hasn’t been up to the task of proving it. That’s why we’ve invited you, the six best detective crews in the world, here today. Hopefully you’ll have a little more luck than our boys in blue.
You must explore your environment to solve the crime! What we require? Why, nothing more than the answers to three very basic questions. Who killed Kammy Koopa? What weapon did they use? And finally, where was the deed done?
Since our town follows a religion that refutes the traditional concept of time, we measure the passage of time in “rounds” rather than minutes or hours. We’ve provided private venues called “forums” for your teams to discuss your progress. At the beginning of each “round” your teams will visit their respective “forums” and discuss which part of our lovely town you would like to explore and any special actions you would like to take (if applicable).
At the end of each “round”, we will issue a public statement to explain the general happenings around you. More specific information to your teams will be provided in your specific “forums”.
Generally, your teams will gain understanding through deduction. If you find evidence referring to something, it probably wasn’t involved in the murder. We assume that the murderer would have cleaned up after themselves and taken such things as weapons with them. Therefore, it’s up to you to deduce your answers based on what you don't find.
The first team to answer our three questions correctly will be rewarded with a key to the city and a gold star!
Also, because I’m a twisted old man, I will be equipping each of your teams with a trap. Your teams will choose when to place it, and when to trigger it in your private forums. More information on your individual traps will be provided in those private forums.
Now, down to the brass tacks.
Rules
Your teams may not work collaboratively in any way, shape, or form. Post inside your private forums, and keep your findings to yourselves.
If you make a declaration, you must do so publicly. Also, making a declaration takes an entire turn, so your team may not make any other actions during the same turn.
If you find any evidence in a room, you are allowed to destroy it to discourage other teams. However, you must leave a reasonable clue for any other teams that may search the room. We will moderate and distribute these.
