I was watching a biography of Victor Borge, a great comedian and talented pianist, and I thought about a lot of comedians who have been lost to time or premature death. Victor is one that I have rediscovered. Its old style comedy, based on timing and not irreverancy, so you have to invest in it before it starts paying off.

Phil Hartman. Newsradio was one of the best sitcoms on TV but then died along with Phil.

I loved Chris Farley also. Though I'll never forgive him for how he died. But pretty much all the ones mentioned so far I agree with.

Forgive him? I'll admit drugs are bad, but I wouldnt say it was all his fault. He was with a hooker, which apparently was a common thing with him because he had trouble getting women due to his size. They were doing drugs together, and it was into the wee hours of the morning and Chris finally "passed out," or so thats what the hooker he was with apparently thought. Suppousedly, Chris begged her not to leave him before he died, his last words were "dont leave me." After he passed out she snapped a few pictures of him, then sold them years later to tabloids or something. If your up to it, google them, but I warn you they are gruesome and if you liked Farley at all they are an image that you wont ever get out of your head. I will never forgive the stupid hooker he was with for not noticing that he was overdosing, not Farley himself. Farley felt he was trapped due to his size, he was the "funny fat guy," and he thought that if he lost weight he wouldnt be funny anymore. Suppousedly he was a deeply religious person and would pray before going out on stage.

An incredibly similar story with John Belushi, only the woman he was with actually served time in prision for lethally injecting him with heroin.

Anyone that does drugs, its hard for me to forgive. They chose it initially and it took control of them. I've never so much as done one inhale of a cigarette or any drugs. I chose that and I see no reason why I should. Only "drug" I've ever taken for an extended period was an anti-depressant but that is because Depression is real and without the med, I had little control over how I mentally was but I was able to not turn to drugs of an illegal nature to fix myself.

I sympathize with the "funny fat guy" problem. I somewhat have dealt with it for a long time because well, I do enjoy being humorous but I'm not trying to be that way hence finally losing the weight even if it means I seem less funny.

I never knew images were posted by the hooker. Just saw them and wow, it's sad seeing him like that but it doesn't disturb me. Thanks though for pointing it out since I was a big farley fan and somehow never knew those existed.
