I don't get it...
Seriously, everything I've seen of that game makes me think its a complete bore, and not only that, a complete bore you can barely make out.

There just hasn't been more hands-on stuff...thanks to you know...Nintendo's bad press conference.
At least I thought it was.

You can see the color.. or outline better in this video.
But to me it looks interesting. and I love the style.

I'm also partially color blind, so maybe I'm seeing things differently.
Hunh, weird. Is it possible to be black/white colourblind?
I love every second of it. I want to see some gameplay though - is it a dungeon crawler? Is it completely linear like Killer 7 was?

Oh Killer7.

Colorblindness isn;t really about not seeing colors, but about visual confusion. Literally my brain has trouble translating the various tints, shades and colors. It a kind of dyslexia rather than true "blindness", and my trouble areas are blue/brown/green. I can see all those colors, but when they get close to each other in hue, my brain switches them and I can't tell the difference. I first knew I was in trouble when I thought I was wearing a green shirt with brown pants, but instead I looked like a UPS driver. I also get vicious headaches in department stores because of all the overstimulation of color.
In cases like MadWorld, its the lack of stimulation and nuance that gives me issues. Everything is stark black and white, so I have trouble discerning what is what because it is all the same tone and everything is in focus. If they used distance blur, it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

i would think that the black and white will make the game either really confusing or it will get annoying quite quickly.

Okay maybe only person on this forum actively looking forward to the game, but the style looks and sounds awesome.
I'm still not feeling this game. I could see it being fun, though.

I think the game looks fine in motion, but eh.
Gameplay looks like a beat-em up with some situational finishers.
All for it.

I think the gaming industry should be beyond this kind of exploitation content.

Well it looked really fun and the trailer made me smile. If I don't think about it too much I probably shouldn't get offended.

Why exactly?
I mean isn't gaming still pretty juvenile compared to most forms of media.

I love these.
Both informative and funny.
Should be commercials.

If you want the industry to stop being the scapegoat for youth violence and generational conflict, over the top violence needs to have a point. Madworld appears to be do overtly violent and fetishistic it looks more like sadoporn or a snuff film than a videgame.
Brutality for brutality's sake is not only offensive to most, but it makes for a exceedingly dull experience. Very quickly the novelty of violence wears off, and if there is nothing left to make it meaningful, it will simply be another also ran, not unlike Manhunter.

I just watched a few videos from this game over at IGN. This is torture porn, and you can guarantee you're going to have multiple groups attacking video games yet again, using this game as an example of how horrible gaming is.
And the worst part is, this looks to be a terrible argument to be on the right side of when MadWorld is used as the example. Mass Effect was easy to defend and in the end showed the media alarmists for the ignorant asses they are because Mass Effect was an example of how robust an experience gaming can be.
MadWorld? Its going to be hard as hell to defend it. Being Wii exclusivve won't help matters either, considering Wii has done such a great job of presenting itself as a family oriented console. I can already hear the conversations:
"Hey Timmy! What game do you have there?"
"It's called MadWorld, mommy! It's the bestest! Want to play?"
"Sure thing, Timmy! So, is it like Wii Sports?"
**Little Timmy breaks a man in half, throws his legs into a thresher and then face f&%ks the corpse**
"TIMMY! NOOOOO!!!!"
And Cable news networks have a weeks worth of airtime to fill with "experts"...

Well the game comes out this week, and reviews have been generous.
So far, its gotten a 9 from IGN, A- from 1up, 7.0 from Eurogamer, 4.5 from GamePro (but we don't count them)
I am waiting for my GameTrailers review personally.

Is that a 4.5/5 from GamePro, or a 4.5/10?
And there's no way this game could ever interest me. I don't like violence.
