The original N64 classic, Banjo Kazooie, will be coming to Xbox Live Arcade this Holiday season. Along with Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Rare fans will now have two platforming games to look forward to. Though one will include a little more vehicles than the other.

Hunh. I wonder what they're giving Nintendo in return?

I would imagine very little.

Isn't Banjo a wholly original franchise? Almost.

Wasn't Nintendo the one holding them back from releasing this, along with Goldeneye, because of the N64 label? I wonder what kind of deal Microsoft cut with them? Will we see Goldeneye on the Virtual Console exclusively? Will we see BK on the VC as well? Or will Nintendo just get 50% of profits?

Nintendo published. In other words, Nintendo took the risk and funded the entire project, and also controlled the production schedule. They also paid for all the advertising and marketing, as well as printing, and paid for the shelf-space.

So I'd imagine Nintendo is being cut a deal, unless it was in the contract that said otherwise, but developers typically get screwed in contracts.

Eh, I'd rather emulate it with Project64 or play on my N64....has anyone seen some of the hi-definition packs being released for Project64?

here's the site with more games: http://www.racketboy.com/retro/nintendo/n64/2008/03/enhance-n64-graphics-with-emulation-plugins-texture-packs.html

there's all sorts of cool texture packs being made by the mod community for N64 games, so...I'd rather emulate away with a sexy texture pack then play an old game on the XBLA.

I don't remember any of those environments.... :( It's been too long, maybe it's time to replay BK.

You should...it was one of the N64's best titles.

Obviously it will be improved for XBLA texture wise and whatnot. The purported Goldeneye shots shows that the effort is there to make an N64 game look much better without sacrificing its core gameplay or screwing something up horribly.

Those screenshots look unbelievable! I knew about the high-res OoT pack, but BK looks amazing!

I hope the XBLA version looks a bit like those. I hope it's at least sharper. And widescreen. I hope.
