I guess I'll blog...I got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Well...maybe today, I'm not sure. [I'll make a new thread for my thought tangent].
But....IV Sedation was weird as hell. The doctor didn't even tell me to count down, he just walked in, said hi, and I was in recovery. The good news is the whole thing was a little under an hour, and the IV Sedation wore of very quickly. So, right now I have a little blood mixed with my saliva, and I'm taking tylenol. They prescribed me with vicodin, but so far day #1 of post-surgery has been pretty pain free.
Anyway, IV Sedation...I think that's the closest to death I'll ever come till I die, or undergo some form of controlled unconsciousness. It was a lot different than my experience from blacking out due to drinking too much. I guess....never waking up from IV Sedation wouldn't be THAT bad. Obviously, not the preferred choice, but peaceful in a vacant sort of nothingness. I'm still going to stick with faith, it seems to abstract to die and permanently have "nothing."

Yea, Sedation is a strange thing to say the least...I had it about a year ago to get my wisdom teeth out, and 2 years ago I was in the hospital for a collapsed lung and had surgery on that. I actually almost enjoyed getting my wisdom teeth out, because of the laughing gas they gave me before sedation. That stuff is pretty awsome, although Im not sure why exactly they give people lauging gas if they are going to get sedated anyways...

When I got my wisdom teeth out, they gave me an IV to sedate me, and it put me out pretty much as soon as they stuck it in my hand.
THe thing is though, I swear I could hear the whirring and buzzing of blades.
When I woke up from it, I was so groggy and high that I was nonsensically trying to make friends with the nurse who was attending to me.

That's weird....maybe I had a lower dose or a different medicine for my IV Sedation. I was literally out, and out without any memory of being put out.....I'm actually kind of curious if they let me know or if they just did it. Then, I was awake....only in recovery. The rest was black. I didn't hear anything or remember anything. It was strange. Of course...I got from the room where they did the surgery to the recovery room, so I must have been conscience but not aware at some point. But once I came to I was pretty much cognitive and aware. I was a little disoriented, but that wore off in 5 or 10 minutes, and the rest was nice.
It was stranger than blacking out from drinking, IMO.
