I don't recall having seen any interest in this game here - has anyone played it?

I bought it right before my vacation. I think it's a really sleek game. I played it for about 30 minutes and I'm much more impressed with it than the demo they have up on XBL. Plus I'm in love with the fact that they tried to make a spiritual sequel to Chrono Trigger. I love it. I'll play more when I finish Paper Mario.

I felt the urge to play a good old fashioned Japanese RPG a few weeks back, and came this close to purchasing it...

It's less than $15 on half.com now... I might have to go ahead and pick it up... *ponders*

I definitely recommend it, based on the fact that this is the first soundtrack I've enjoyed in a while. Uematsu is awesome.

After months of contemplating a purchase of this game, I decided just a few days ago to rent it, and have been playing it pretty steady since. I think I'm something like 3 or 4 hours in, I usually don't have time to play this much but it is rather exciting to actually be playing a next gen traditional japanese rpg, because really, besides this and Lost Odyssey (great game), there sure is slim pickin's right now.

Aside from the asinine story of "lets stop the bad guy", and the outrageously annoying Marumaro character, I have to say I'm quite pleased with what I've experience so far. Beautiful graphics, a very appealing cartoon-ish art style, I find myself wanting to keep playing just to see the next area of the world. It definitely gives off a Chrono Trigger/Dragon Quest vibe.

I so totally bought it on you guys' recommendations... Maybe I'll play it one day...
I wanna check out Lost Odyssey, too, but the going rate of $35 is a bit steep for a game I'll probably never actually play...

I have been missing the days when I only play Japanese RPG's but I know now I would not have to time to really get into it.

I need one that drags me in
