Anyone else slightly disappointed about the lack of titles with trophy support as of the 2.40 release? The list is extremely small for my taste.
I know that other games can support trophies with patches, but Sony said that's up to the developer.
I half-expected this. :/

Here's the list btw
Super Stardust™ HD, a PLAYSTATION Network-exclusive released last year, will be the first game to leverage the Trophies system and will offer a variety of trophies. The following first-party games are also slated to offer Trophy support:
· BUZZ!™ Quiz TV
· LittleBigPlanet™
· MotorStorm™ Pacific Rift
· NBA 09 - PS3
· PAIN**
· PixelJunk™ Eden
· Resistance 2™
· SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation
· Warhawk™

It's a bummer but hopefully some more developers come out and say that they're going to patch in some trophies. Personally though, I'm set because Uncharted trophies and Burnout trophies are confirmed. And I already got my first two trophies in SSHD last night.

Ah Super Stardust.
I'll probably patch that up and give it a whirl with the new update before I get on to GTAIV, which I just got a hold of last night.
I wonder if Disney is going to allow Turok PS3's "accomplishments" to turn into trophies. I should look into that.

I kept meaning to ask you if you guys were going to do a patch. I guess obviously you don't know yet.
If I were to guess, I would say no. Apparently, they never did a Sixaxis rumble patch. :( Unless they were going to do one big patch that would do both. That would be sweet.
I dont see why people this gen fuzz over achievements and the like so much, back in the day i would just play the game and do some random shit like, say beating a game on no continues, finding every secret on games like DKC on trial and error, stuff like that. I didnt get an achievement or or anything, I was just as happy.

Even better is when old games would give you cool stuff, like all the art metroid gave you, not some stupid trophy or some points.

Trophys/achivements are there just so people can show off that they used cheats or saved/reloaded a game over and over to make it seem like it was perfect. I could live without them personally.

Well I believe that the points and stuff that you get don't stack as you achieve them over and over again. That was a big thing with the Avatar game for the 360, that people found an easy exploit for points.
I dunno, I know that you'd get cool stuff in older games back then, I.E. ultimate weapons in RPGs like the FFs and the extreme pain in the ass ones from Chrono Trigger, but I'd think of it more in the sense of people being able to show that they worked hard to do this.
Not necessarily for bragging rights in my case, but I'm sure other people would think of it as such.

It is kind of tough to cheat achievements from my experience anyhow.
I do like achievements but also dislike them to an extent.
I think they are cool when you do something that you would normally do and get rewarded for it, bbut when you are muddled with another task just for an achievements its a pain.
Like shooting out all the TVs in Call of Duty 4, I mean honestly there is something like 200-300 TVs I hear (could be grossly overestimating) but no one would have done that on their own accord. Or the ones like carrying the gnome throughout all of Half Life 2.
I liked the Metroidd Prime 3 system of achievements personally. You got different colored tokens based on achieving certain criteria. But those tokens could then be turned in to buy stuff like art and music. Or sent to friends so they could buy stuff. This way you and your friends benefit.
that kind of achivements you mentioned, the ones you wouldnt normally do, i just never do them, most of the games i dont even bother checking the achievement list out.
