If this is a new Chrono Trigger for the DS, I might just have to buy a DS now....

If it's just a port, I can probably pass on it.

All signs point to it being an enhanced port of the SNES game.

I'm not that huge of an RPG fan, but having never played Chrono Trigger, this got me excited. I just wish they'd release the Mario RPG games for the DS..

I don't care. They could release a virtual Spekkio game where you would have to take care of Spekkio and I would still call it the greatest game ever. :D :D :D

Renewed interest FOR THE FUCKING WIN.

This reintroduction of a timeless classic better be the start of a plan to revitalize the Chrono series, and by that I mean a Chrono 3 should be revealed soon. Even if they can't get the "dream team" back together again, just make the motherfuck, come on.

Wow... I saw that BlueFire posted a thread titled "!!!" and my heart immediately jumped... "New Chrono game!!!" I thought to myself...

Even if they can't get the "dream team" back together again

Wasn't Chrono Cross made without the "dream team"?

Anyways, that countdown screen totally got me psyched until I learned it's just a remake... I so totally thought it was going to be a totally new Chrono game in good old-fashioned 2D splendor...

Bring on Chrono 3...

It didn't have some members of the "dream team", but the rest of the team was there. They went on to make other games, like Xenogears, then Xenosaga, and then Baten Kaitos, and then Baten Kaitos Origins, and then Nintendo bought them. I wonder if Square's going to cut a deal with Nintendo to make this new Chrono break game - Baten Kaitos is a fantastic couple of games.

They're currently finishing off Disaster: Day of Crisis, which isn't RPG, so they're probably thinking of starting something up, hahah.

I'm just so happy that Square hasn't forgotten about us die-hard Chrono fans. :D

Well we can only expect so much from Square this time around.

I was talking with BLue yesterday and I was mentioning that a new next-gen game wouldn't work out too well, because most people (IMO) that play next-gen consoles might find the whole turn-based strategy way too slow-moving, and not exactly what I see people expecting from video games on the newer consoles.

Even Square is moving away from traditional turn-based RPGs in the main franchise of games. XIII looks WAY too much like an action-oriented game.

I think the only turn-based RPG from them that they could sell on a next gen console would be (the highly overrated) FF7 because of it's huge fanbase.

DarkMaster

These new consoles are in dire need of some RPGs, traditional or action, it doesn't matter. I'd say they'd have more chance of success with a traditional-based game, which there aren't very many of, rather than another action-oriented game to add to the limitless number of action games that already exist and are forthcoming.

They already said that the graphics aren't getting any boost...
It's really more of an enhanced port than a remake...

Some DS capabilities, a new dungeon... Same ol' everything else.
