I decided to cash in on the final days of GameStop's (yes that evil place) GamerDay sale and pick up Sega Superstar Tennis for 20 bucks. Like Dyne and his golf games, I am an avid lover of most tennis games namely Mario and Virtual. So this combines the best of both worlds with the team behind Virtua Tennis and the character of the MArio Tennis game.

Thus far, I have found it to be enjoyable. I find that the speed and ump behind the shots doesn't quite match up to Mario Tennis, but I guess that was going for a much heavier casual feel.

Like Mario Power Tennis, each Superstar has a special move that you build up over time. There are some major/minor differences.

1)Unlike Mario Tennis, the power ups aren't automatic hitting so even if you activate it you must still hit the ball. Which I think balances it out nicely especially with the next item...
2)The special lasts about 3-4 rallies depending on the character unlike Mario Tennis use once and done system.
3)There seems to be no real science to building up the meter.

There are a ton of mini-games which thus far have been pretty sweet. MY favorite so far is the House of the Dead one where you are nailing incoming zombies with tennis balls.

Nothing else of note really. Played some Gears for the first time in a bit enjoyed it.

Since PokeMon fever has hit GT again trying to dig up my DS (though pretty sure at this point a sibiling sold it) to continue playing.

I didn't really like the Sega Superstar Tennis demo.

I loved Virtua Tennis on the PSP, though. Perfect fit for the game on the platform.

What didn't you like about the demo to see if maybe it was improved in the final build?

The demo felt extremely laggy, control-wise. Maybe it was just shadow, but it didn't have anything close to the feel of Mario Tennis.

The HD really, REALLY works though. It is a fantastically smooth presentation.

I'll have to agree with flunkie on Virtua for PSP
