The black running shoe, wrapped in seaweed, didn't stand out on the pebbled beach near Campbell River on Wednesday. It was the stomach-turning sight of human bones sticking up above the ankle line that left Sandra Malone shaken.

So I heard a few coworkers talking about this today at work and just wondering if any of you non BC-ites had heard of this. My boss who is Australian said people from way back home had heard about it.

Also, I was listening to the radio, and some scientist was claiming that they ended up on opposite sides because right feet and left feet float differently in water. :lolz:

The weird thing is that the feet don't seem to be removed by force... :unsure:

SOmeone on the radio today had a good theory though.
It was along the lines of:
People who grow dope put beartraps in their fields to stop raiders, and when a foot gets cut off, you're a dope grower - what are you gonna do with it? Ditch it in the water somewhere.

I thought it meant all of them were hoaxes, and was going to say "Who the fuck is putting all these shoes on animals?"
