So, we have one successful podcast down, and hopefully many more to follow. I have several suggestions as to how we can make the podcast easier on ourselves and also better for our listeners. I thought we could discuss all the ideas we have and put them into action soon.
- We definitely need to turn off those annoying Skype sounds on all of our computers.
- I feel as though it would be best if the podcast was limited to four people, with one person basically "running" the show through the chat. So there would be six total people in the conference call: four hosts, one recorder (GM), and one organizer.
- We need some way to be unique, right now it's just us talking about video games, which is pretty interesting, but it's not really interesting. Something which I think would be interesting and that I haven't seen done before is to merge traditional radio with video game podcasts. We could do the show in Acts and have several segments. Perhaps stories, about our experiences with videogames, interesting videogame news items, forum events, etc. Something more meaningful than us simply rambling about video games. Or maybe we just want it to be simply us shooting the breeze? I think either can work.
- There also needs to be a weekly thread where we lay out the basic outline of the show for the next week. This way the organizer can be aware of what we're going to talk about, and the hosts can be as well. The podcast shouldn't have to require an enormous amount of research or work on behalf of everyone, but it's good to at least be aware of what we're going to talk about.
Thoughts?
