View Full Version : I get my Ps3 Today

I'm buying a Ps3 today as I love Metal Gear Solid games. I will be buying:-

MGS4
Singstar
2 Hori arcade joysticks

Is there anything else you would recommend to buy? Accessories/games? Does it come with the cable to plug it into HDMI?

Nope, you need to buy an HDMI cable seperate. Fortunately, ANY HDMI cable will work. It's just how much you want to pay for it that matters. :) Just make sure your TV supports HDMI and you're good to go. As for audio, if you have a surround receiver, you can plug optical or the AV cables in. Just ask here if you encounter any problems when setting up.

I got the dualshock3, but I haven't really found it worth it. However, my opinion might change if MGS4 does it extremely well.

Well, the PS3 has a better lineup IMO but I have a 360 for Gears you know that. You hatin' on PS3 now? I didn't expect this from you especially on the eve of your biggest game boner of the year.

i bought it, 1 year extended warranty, bought singstar, i forgot to buy my arcade joysticks :(

First impressions:-

The box looks like it's meant to be an egg carton for 2 huge eggs. Console looks nice, but very big. Instructions manual is ugly, controller feels suprisingly light.

I'm doing an update now, taking 4eva. I guess no MGS4 for 2nite, but eventually it will be played :D

If you liked the Indiana Jones movies (did anyone not?) you'll really enjoy Uncharted. If you like 2D shooters at all, you need to buy SuperStardust HD at the Playstation Store.

As long as its more Last Crusade and less Temple of Doom sure.

I have decided to hold off on my PS3 until I buy my HDTV.

And then I guess later on in the year get a Ps3.

Now. Buy Uncharted. Best game on the system and best looking next gen game so far.

I know, and I didn't forget about Crackdown. It is an amazing game and tears apart GTA4 in nearly every way but I don't have a 360 for Crackdown.

The PS3 library has had far more solid games that interest me more than the 360 so far. Not to say that the 360 doesn't have great games but most of its exclusives aren't my thing it seems.

When charging the controller do you need to leave the ps3 turned on?
