Hey guys,
I was posed with the question of what I would like for a graduation present from my parents today. Honestly I have no idea, I dont want a watch or anything...I can't think of anything I need...but they told me to think on it or talk to my friends see what they are getting.

Here is the question: What did you get for a grad present?

Yeah, getting cash made things interesting... kinda because you're given a free pass to do whatever you want with it. I bought a PS2 and a bunch of games with mine and also plenty of other stuff.

Ask for a family picture or hand-sewn blanket with your name on it. Something special that will survive the test of time and hold sentimental value.

my mom definitely doesn't sew...she doesn't cook either...and family portrait is next to none existent...my family is very...not close like that, i guess you could say we are based on experiences not the materials or souvenirs

Maybe they could buy you some new equipment for your internet café

You're the youngest store owner I've ever met!

actually its not my cafe, my boss opened it and knows next to nothing about computers he just likes video games so i run the store and he takes in profit. I wouldn't spend money on it they don't pay me enough as is.

Oooh, I know! Pick out your ultimate dream fantasy computer from a magazine or website or something and then have your parents pay for it!

For high school, I got a computer and some cash. And a nice fancy ring. Not a school ring mind you.

A bit too fancy, I've been asked if I'm married more times than I would like.

For college, I got gobs of cash which I used to buy games and to travel a bit during the summer.

I was contemplating asking for a trip, like all expenses paid cruise tickets for my girlfriend and I, but thats a little on the pricey side, i dont think my parents really want to spend that much on me...

This was what I got 2 friends who got married last friday.

Filling the bottle was really fun and it turned out to be pretty as well.

Edit: not in this picture is a money bill. And handshakes/kisses. And my presence at the party.

Edit2: so maybe I should read threads before I post in them. I got... some practical stuff because I was going to live on my own.

For high school I got my first mp3 player. 128 MB of pure audio goodness.

For college my parents helped pay off some of my loans so that I'll have less interest to deal with later on...which I shall be paying back once I get enough money to do so.

I got cash and a laptop. Basically, the two necessities for any college student. Everything else is something you probably want, and if you're looking for a want go for it. But you will need money and a laptop.
