So I went into Best Buy the other day and noticed that they had two piles of GH2 bundles. One was marked $79.99 and the other $50.49. I decided to give it a shot and see if I could get the "misleading price tag" discount.

Well, when I got to the checkout, I watched the price to see if I would have to plead my case and to my surprise, it rang up at $42.49! Keep it mind this is the bundle (game + guitar) which is still listed at $89.99 on bestbuy.com. This is a cheaper price than either the game or guitar separately. (Game is still priced at $49.99 and the guitar by it self is priced at $59.99.) If you don't yet have GH2 or you want a cheap extra guitar (trade in the game) then this could be a good deal if it holds true for the Best Buy in your neck of the woods.

Are you sure it wasn't an open-box item?

Positive. Box was taped with original tape. Guitar was still in the plastic protector. Game was still shrink-wrapped and sealed. And the little silica gel packets were still in the box.

Huh. That's so weird. Neither the $50.49 or the $42.49 prices are "discount" prices so I'm stumped as to why they were priced lower like that. Must be a local-store thing for sure.

Well, I was posting from memory. Let's see if I can find my receipt...

Found it. Looks like my memory was correct. See attachment.

I actually just got Guitar Hero 3 for ridiculously cheap the other day because of Gamestop's Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale. I got GH3, GH3 guitar, and Bully Scholarship Edition all for $75

How are you enjoying that 21 cents?

I'm trying not to spend it all in one place.
