Apparently this game is nearing its launch in Japan, July 5.

This looks like the kind of game you'd expect on the 360/PS3. An action-adventure in very dynamic environments. I wonder how the Wii will handle it. It's already known that they've cut the game up in levels that you play through. I just hope it's not too mission-based in a stupid way, as in "Run away from the flood! Climb the building! Shoot the terrorists!"

Screenshots look pretty decent. Judging from those, I expect a lot of mini-games blended into the gameplay.

I was never really interested in this one but I think I'll give it a look anyways. I think of the mature Wii titles that were first shown, I was more interested in Project H.A.M.M.E.R., but that was canned. :(

"Details have always been sketchy on Monolith Soft's new Wii title, Disaster: Day of Crisis. Originally scheduled to be released in 2007, the game was delayed into 2008. With the impending Japanese release, a few new details have been revealed about the Nintendo-published "survival action" game, courtesy Famitsu Magazine.

In Disaster: Day of Crisis you play as Ray, who a year ago lost his friend and co-worker, Steve. The story centers on Ray's attempts to rescue Steve's sister, Lisa, from kidnappers. His efforts are challenged by a series of natural disasters such as volcanoes, tsunamis, and hurricanes. On top of that, Ray has to foil a terrorist plot to set of a nuclear bomb.

Gameplay will work by moving around with the analog stick on the Nunchuk. The Wii Remote pointer aims whatever weapon or item Ray has equipped, which can be used with the B Trigger. Ray can also stop to help the wounded. One level shows Ray trying to escape a tsunami in a car, which is controlled by the player holding the Wii Remote in a horizontal position.

Disaster: Day of Crisis is slated for a July release in Japan. It is currently listed as 2008 in the US and Europe."

Some new details on the game.
I want to see more of it before I make an opinion.

Yeah, looks like a great adventure game. I'm just a bit afraid that it will be a collection of mini-game-like short levels... We've gotten used to sandbox games.

To me, those movies just confirm what I feared. Those elements all look ok, but they have to be part of something bigger. I wonder if they can run a whole level.

Whether it will actually be a good game or not, that is some awesome advertizing.

And it makes me want to watch Day After Tomorrow again.

Wow I think this game has really come together.
I hope Nintendo announces a North American release this week.

The funny thing is that there's already a European launch date. End of October I believe.

Edit: that was a great movie. Now I'm finally looking forward to it again.

Don't bother with this game. It's terrible.
I just hope it's not too mission-based in a stupid way, as in "Run away from the flood! Climb the building! Shoot the terrorists!"
That's exactly what they've done. Levels consist of multiple parts that each take a few minutes.
The shooting is absolutely terrible. Enemies are still standing after 4 headshots. The pointer controls are slow. Enemies will still be emptying their rounds at you even when they're taking hits.
Exploring parts is boring, and jumping doesn't feel right. The camera is way too close to the character, which makes it hard to see where you are.
I haven't had any driving parts yet, but I bet they're awful too.

I wish I hadn't bought it, not even for those 10 Euros.
