Well, it's about that time of year when people start looking for summer jobs. What's yours going to be this season?

I'm interning at a somewhat-local hospital, working under the Administrator and VP of Finance. Not really sure what I'm going to be doing, but it should be interesting. I may also get a part-time job at a local gardening store.

I'm hoping to have a real job this summer. So hopefully, I've worked my last summer job.

I was planning on getting an internship with the Lakers or the Sparks and some things were available, but they both start next month and I'll still be school so no dice. So, I'll be interning at a Law Firm instead, paid, apart from a week as a camp counselor.

My options are wide open.

I am however interested in interning at a local sound mixing studio but I'm not sure if they do paid internships or not.

I'll be working on my MSc thesis, when that's done (hopefully in December), I'll go look for a real job. :)

I've almost finished a paid internship (€900 for 4 months). This summer I'll hopefully get my drivers license.

Not really a summer job, but I'm on the top of the hotlist for a Programming Coop spot at Propaganda Games. It would be amazing if that fell through. :)

I'm currently interning at Perot Systems, and I'll be working there full time this summer as a software developer.

It's a nice job in one of the top floors of a tower downtown, so it has a great view, and free drinks as well. Not to mention the pay is pretty fantastic for an internship, around $14.50 an hour.

Wow, seems like Internships are the hot things these days. I too am looking for an internship, although I havent had much luck yet. Ive had a couple of interviews which I thought all went well, but havent gotten an offer yet. Just today I called a marketing firm of some sort and I set up an interview for April 18th. I hate going into an interview not really knowing much about the company or what exactly im going to be doing. I cant seem to find a website, and the description didnt reveal very much. I also got a call for some sort of center for performing development, and I set up an interview for April 15th and they said they would email me to confirm it but that was a few hours ago and I havent gotten the email so im beginging to wonder what happened there. Maybe I'll give it a few days.

But If I dont get an internship, I can always fall back on my Summer (and whenever) job of the past 5 years...making waffle machines.

Getting an internship on the open market is normally pretty difficult and very competitive (from my knowledge). Networking and getting the insider opportunities seems to be more fruitful.

Well yea, thats obvious. Unfortunatley I dont seem to know many people who have jobs in places that offer internships. I know several people that have gotten Internships at Caterpillar, which is a HUGE local employer, but they all have parents or relatives who allready work there. I dont. My dad works at the Post office and my mom is a receptionist at a doctors office so they are of no help.

Spinto Band is my full time job, though depending on how many shows we decide to play this summer I might look into getting some part time work to keep the monetary flow going.
