A very special Two-For Tuesday edition, no less!!
Woot.com (http://www.woot.com)
There was actually one last Thursday, but I was too busy to post about it. To cut to the chase, there was no Bag of Crap at the end of that one, which of course chagrins Wooters to no end.
So much to everyone's surprise, here's another one just five days later. I think a BOC is in the air.

so what's actually in this bag of crap?

The only BOC I got came with three things. 1. A Mr. T sing-a-long book/vinyl record circa the 1970's, 2. A Diablo sandwich cooking thing, and 3. an actual bag -- a backpack. Quite literally a bag of crap. There may have been one more thing but I have since forgotten it or thrown it away.
So what's the big deal? Some of the BOCs come with slightly more worthwhile crap, such as MP3 players. Very rare BOCs come with a large flatscreen TV, or something of similar worth. All the expensive items are generally refurbs or not new in one way or another, but for $1.00 it's hard to complain. Sort of like a lottery I guess, but getting a BOC requires good timing as they go quickly and usually crash the Woot servers with so many people trying to buy them.
I keep trying to look for stuff I'd want, but I'm never, ever intrigued. :( Oh well.

I could have got the BOC, but it needed my security number and I didn't have it ready...

Dah the ol' security number holdup. Classic.
Damn if I had just stayed up a little bit longer I would've grabbed one.

Paypal is so much quicker for the BoC's just have the password copied to your clipboard.
*Edit*
BWAHAHAHAHA. And another 3 Bags of Crap are mine! They hinted heavily on the last battery pack's description with all the word phrases containing BoC. The last time I got a Roomba, a crappy little Sansa MP3 player, and a kazoo.

It's $1 for each item. So it was $3 + $5 shipping = $8.

Four chances for a BOC, twice I got to the processing screen, and no BOC for me. That makes David a sad bear.
That receiver looks nice. Any idea how much a receiver like that typically goes for?
HDMI receivers are really expensive nowadays. I think the bottom of the line ones are at least $700, but I'm not certain. The fact it's Onkyo and it's 7.1 and HDMI makes it a must-buy for anyone looking into future-proofing their home theater.

I have heard tell that the BOCs were actually April Fool's Jokes. Like, everybody who tried to buy one got the "sold out" message.

Pretty sure. I got in RIGHT when they came up 3 times yesterday and assumed I had one, got a sold out message ALL THREE TIMES after a while.
So sorry for my premature 'I win' message.

Ah tml, before I read your post saying you got one, I figured they weren't real. But after that I figured they were, so you're the one that gave me hope that the offers were true. :baby:
Huh. Well the receiver was on a different site, and not in a bag of crap. It was probably real.
Also, can they.. do what they did? That seems irresponsible.
EDIT: Jesus fuck there's three left, it IS real! CREDIT CARD WHY CAN'T YOU HAVE SPACE RIGHT NOW

I meant I thought the extra chance BOCs were real. I know that receiver was real.
Good question, can Woot do that? I say yeah, since normally most people aren't able to grab the Bag O' Crap anyway, it's not much different for everyone to not actually get it.
