I knew it was coming eventually, but the official announcement makes it that much more real.
Who's camping out? :-D

This worries me. The animated Clone Wars series was good enough they should leave it be.

If George Lucas from the past saw this he would kill himself so he could roll in his grave.
You have got to be fucking kidding me.

Have you seen the Cartoon Network Clone Wars series? Its better than ROTJ and Ep. 1-3. They're on DVD, so Netflix `em. You'll thank me.

This is crap.
Star Wars shouldn't be animated.
Ever.
The entire glory of it aside from the story, was for the era-specific seemingly ground breaking cinematic technology and graphics.
There's nothing epic or amazing about a cartoon.

I will repeat, watch the Clone Wars series and then come back. I'll have a crow and bottle of BBQ sauce waiting.

I've seen it.
Not a fan.
Star Wars - as I said - isn't meant to be animated.

I have a dentist appointment, is 2:30 okay?
I need to let my mouth thaw before I can prepare to shoot someone.

See, your force powers are too weak to persuade me.
That's what you get for watching a cartoon of Star Wars.
(This is possibly the nerdiest conversation I've ever had. Sadly, Star Wars is my only nerd-vice.)

Dude, you post regularly on a video game forum, and STAR WARS is your only nerd-vice? And yes, this truly is a gloriously geeky conversation. Thank you for playing along.

I don't play video games though.
I did when I joined, when i was 15 or so.
But now the only video games I play are rock band when I'm drunk with friends, or NHL 08 when I'm killing time.
I wouldn't say posting on a gaming forum is nerdy. We rarely talk about games anyways.

Star Wars used to be this glorious saga with a good story, interesting characters, and special effects that were imagination-driven. Then episodes 1-3 came out, and basically, fuck you, George Lucas. I am a super casual Star Wars fan, but I will always enjoy episodes 4-6 as the classics they are. I will also pretend that the crapfest that is 1-3 were never made. George Lucas needs to go crawl back under his rock. I don't submerge myself in the Star Wars world, I don't follow the sub-stories or read the books or any crap like that. So I'm not a true Star Wars fan. But I won't ever forget the joy I got from watching the original saga as a kid.
Anyway, this is good for George. More money in the bank. And in 15 years he can release the special modified version with updated special effects and recharge everyone.

Episode III was pretty good. Actually, I have to see it again, just saw it twice in cinemas. With my ex fiancé, so that's almost 3 years ago.
