This is a damn sweet feature.
The ability to play Ps1 games from your PSP thats in your PS3 anywhere from the world as long as Ps3 is online.

I almost had this set up but then I couldn't remember my PSN password! What a shitty situation!
But it'll be nice to play Chrono Cross on the go. And maybe I could finish FF7 for once.

Wonder how the load times are, and what happens if the signal goes bad.
The idea is mighty sweet though. Hope it works well in execution.
Don't think I'd play my PSX games anymore than I do currently (never), but I'm sure a lot of failing DigiPen students will love this, and I will likely get to watch many Final Fantasy 7 games during class. They need to go this with GCN games. Could you imagine playing PSO on the go? :D
Is this official or still a rumor?

I don't post rumors. ;)
...
No it is confirmed.

The confirmed list is missing a lot of the titles I'd want still. Though I sometimes wonder how those old full versaions of games would compare to the glitchy stuff on PSP.

a friend of mine has a PSP and he's been using this feature from my PS3 already
Could someone briefly explain how this feature works?
I'm mighty confused...

i assume it's similar to remote desktop on a computer
you just have the game in the PS3 and the PS3 hooked up to the internet. then it uses some software so that you remotely take control of the PS3. I assume all the gameplay takes place on the PS3 and you just view it through the PSP. AKA when you push UP on your psp it gets sent out as data and then your PS3 inputs up.
you can do all sorts of crazy stuff with computers. wake-on-lan, remote start, remote desktop. this technology is olddddd. but like gekko said, i wonder how well it's going to work for the PS3 to PSP.

Update your PS3. Update your PSP. Turn on remote play on PS3. Turn on remote play on PSP. Then assuming you're in a WiFi spot, you can play any PS1 game that you've downloaded or is physically in your PS3's drive (in the event that you have PS1 discs).

ah so you need a wifi spot for the psp? Sounds pretty...........hmm
Do you need to leave your ps3 turned on too?

Wait, why would you need to be in a WiFi spot? Doesn't the signal come from the PS3?

Yes, but not the way you're thinking. It sends information from the PS3, through the internet, to your PSP. So you can have your PS3 on in the Netherlands and be playing a game from your PS3 on your PSP while visiting New Orleans (not that you would want to be playing while visiting New Orleans). Theoretically, anyway, I'm sure it's affected by internets congestion.

And will it work without a WiFi hotspot when you're close to the PS3?
And I saw A Love Song For Bobby Long, with an old John Travolta in New Orleans. Good movie.

As long as your PS3 is plugged in I assume there's always some power going to it. Remote Start-Up is pretty doable nowadays. Otherwise, to answer your question, yes you do and Sony is gay.

No. Your PS3 is not broadcasting any information. Your PS3 is not a wireless access point. All your bases do not belong to us.

Well I'll be damned. I've been mislead...
