View Full Version : First Look at Gameplay Footage for New Ghostbusters Game

The internet went abuzz yesterday with news of the new Ghostbusters game which is currently in production. No one knew how far along the production on this title was, but it seems the game is farther along than most would have assumed. Check out the first gameplay footage of the Ghostbusters and see for yourself how amazing the game looks!

Game Informer just dropped a bomb on their readers with their newest issue: Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Dan Akroyd are all teaming up for a new Ghostbusters video game. The game will actually function as a sequel to the two movies, presumably picking up where the #2 left off. Ramis and Akroyd are even handling the scriptwriting like they did on the films, so you know at the very least the humor should be good; hopefully enough to help us all forget the previous Ghostbusters games. No word yet on what the hell Rick Moranis has been up to for the past decade or so.

Also should be noted that this game takes place in the early 90s.

Um..I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but how does our ghost-busting hero cling to the wall and shoot down on our ever-so-soft marshmallow man?

If the answer is in the films, my excuse is this: It's been so long since I've watched the GB movies, I can't remember a thing :)

Just to answer the general questions.
The game is coming to every system under the sun. PS3, Ps2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC.

The 360/Ps3/PC version is of course different from the Wii/Ps2/DS version. It is being done by a completely different team, and features a more cartoony style. It also focuses more on multiplayer as well.

As for the Stay Puft marshmellow question. The scene is not explained in the movie as I actually saw it for the first time fully two nights ago and they remain on top of the building. Though in the game from what I understand you are rappelling down the side of the building while keeping him from climbing up.

The game will be released in Oct 2008
