I'm so excited. I got into this game quite late, relatively speaking, but I got pretty obsessed with it. And now it's been announced for the Wii.

Who else is excited for this? I seem to recall Gekko having what some might have called an unhealthy love of the game, though I could be wrong.

STOP! Samba de Amigo is NOT coming to Wii. That is a misprint. A shitty knock-off of Samba de Amigo is coming to the Wii, albeit with that incredibly cute monkey :D

Not let's get a few things straight. Samba de Amigo uses maracas, Wii de Crap uses a remote control and a stand-alone thumbstick. Same thing? Not even close. Samba de Amigo's maracas are also maracas, the beads shake inside of the maraca to produce an authentic plastic maraca sound. Wii de Crap has a Hallmark speaker at best. Samba de Amigo also has multiple poses you can do, Wii de Crap doesn't allow corner to corner because the controllers are held together with a cord.

So whatever you do, don't buy this game, don't link to an article, don't rent it, and don't tell your friends about it. Hopefully Sega will get the hint early and cancel development and save the reputation of the series. I would love another Samba de Amigo, but I want it with maracas and not to have everything being turned into a gimmick because of this stupid controller.

What's next? Play guitar hero with an air guitar? Maybe I'll play Steel Battalion with a remote and a nunchuk, same thing, right? Only good peripheral-based knock-off that would happen is DDR, so I can lay 2 remotes and nunchuks on the ground and proceed to stop them to pieces so they won't ruin my poor monkey's name.

Putting Samba de Amigo into Sega Tennis is a great idea. Making a new game that does not play like the original, bad idea. Don't buy it, don't even think about it.

I think I would buy just to see Gekko's meltdown if not only does it use the setup but sells better than the DC version so way they start going....

Whoa now, what about if they added a shaker to the end of the Wiimote? You know they're crazy right now about wiimote peripherals. Hell, they're even making a gun and steering wheel peripheral. They'll definitely make a shaker plug in. If you, you could tape a shaker and gain the exact same effect. Think about it.

Actually I'm with Gekko, he made good points. Even though it will probably be a decent game, it loses most of its charm without the maracas.
