I just bought me a used copy of Metriod Prime 2: Echoes, which I never played. Cost me €14,50 including shipping. I wonder if it's really as hard as you guys say.
I started playing Metroid Prime on hard mode when I was bored. Blast, it's really hard at some points, the first point being where you fight bees to get your first missiles. I didn't bother replaying it, I'd rather fight the end-boss again and start on MP2.
I found the NES Metroid for the AGB for €5, which I also started playing... It just sucks so incredibly hard that you can't save your health points (right?). You can only save when you die.... and after you die, you start with 30hp. It can take minutes before you're at 100 or 200 or... health. I downloaded a map to help me in my quest.
I loved Super Metroid, I think I beated it twice. Wasn't too fond of Metroid Fusion, it was too short and linear, but still very much worth playing. Never bothered with Metroid: Zero Mission or Metroid Prime: Hunters. Or pinball.
I'm very excited about MP3, even though I believe Europe doesn't even have a launch date for it.
