When ever active forum member greets a new member it always seems to scare them away...makes us seem a bit desperate.

Yes. Then they'll make an effort to gain the attention of the rest of the forum, flowering into a well spoken member of the community. Or off themselves for being neglected by the one outlet they thought they could be be at home in. *shrug* Works either way.
